Prelim Finals Discussion

While I think Jorris is massively overrated and one dimensional, him and Lafai are pretty goddamn good backs at club level.

I can't get on board with that mate. They're solid and they do a job most of the time, that's about it.

Put it this way, how good do a lot of players look at Melbourne? Then how good do they look when they leave? That's what I think Hasler does for the Bulldogs and their players.

Did Greenberg have a chat with the refs before the game last night? The Bulldogs were getting away with murder in the ruck. Constant hand on ball, "crowding" happened in every single tackle. Then some of the calls that went against the Panthers were terrible.

Kyle Feldt is playing for Northern Pride.

He comes into centre for Crampton who knocks Svendsen off the bench.

We're moments away from kick-off in the NSW Cup GF.

Naiqama and Anderson come in for the Panthers.

Meanwhile Dobson drops out for the Knights causing a late change.

Joel Caine, Lara Pitt and Brett Kimmorley are all tipping the Knights.

Nathan Fien tipping the Panthers.

Surprised by that, I reckon Panthers would be head and shoulders the favourites especially with Dobson missing.

Panthers lead 22-6 heading into HT.

But enough of that.

Let's go Easts!

Crap kick from Walker.

Obst on the other hand puts in a sweet chip-kick to force a goal line drop-out.

Bowen bombs an early opportunity for Pride but they're on attack here again.

Nona forces a goal line drop-out now.

Pride's kicking game has been on the mark, they should be the first to score here.

That was a good cross-field kick from Obst (?) but McInally comes up with an even better take.

Tate is on commentary.

Another good take from McInally and he receives a penalty for his effort.

Yep, there always seem to be really good excuses for the clubs we beat, but when we lose, it's Griffin's fault...

This does crop up a lot. I think it's because of our level of consistency, tbh. I haven't seen enough of the Bulldogs play the last few seasons so can't comment on their team but in terms of Brisbane we just seem incapable of building on a good performance from week to week. The last few years we will put on a dominant showing then play terrible the next week. It's a similar pattern I'd say from about 2012 onwards. If a team cannot string convincing wins together, I think it's natural that some fans (myself included) look back at the teams we did beat and try and put Brisbane's performances into some context. Not saying a good win shouldn't stand on it's merits but the Bulldogs are a breath away from a premiership and we easily accounted for them twice this year. It's about context, I think.

Feldt is in.

Tigers just gave them too many opportunities and the Pride took advantage of the numbers.

Now Bowen grabs one he missed out on earlier.

Pride just look a class above at the moment.

That was the most obvious block play on McInally and they let it go!
