Well he's not wrong. That was actually a really good segment with him and Fittler today. Both tipping us to win, for much the same reasons as we're saying on here. Gus too even on another one.

I do agree about those offloads. Have to wrap the ball up well. Offloads are the one thing that can trouble any defence.
We've clearly been focusing on this a bit at training, I've noticed the boys holding ball-carrying arms etc and have been actively looking to wrap up potential offloads. It's been a big improvement from earlier in the season. We'll need to be all over that on Saturday.

Plan to beat the Broncos...

That's straight from the Brian Smith v Broncos play book. The two best coaching efforts against the Broncos in finals is 1998 v the Eels and 2006 v the Dragons.

1998- Smith told the Eels to walk to scrums, slow it down kick it out on the fifth and not give Brisbane broken play to attack from.

Eels went against the wind in the first half, so they came home in the second half with Simon driving the ball deep to make Lockyer bring it back.

Worked- Eels kept Brisbane to 10. Considering they'd averaged nearly 30 during the year it's a huge effort.

Then in 2006- Brown and the Dragons did a great job on Hodges in the finals and nullified him with a terrific kicking game and bombing him and making it hard to get out of the right-hand corner which Hodges hated.

Dragons kept Brisbane to four.

Attack was just so stifled in both games.

IMO, the 1998 game plan from Smith wouldn't be quite as effective in 2023, not only is there less scrums (given some situations are now tap restarts instead of scrums) and a scrum clock, meaning you can't really walk to a scrum anymore

Don't watch 360 tonight. Skimmed through it but saw Benny Elias calling us a protected species due to how much we travelled to Sydney 😂
Yeah... going on about how we only travelled to Shitney 3 times this year, because that's the centre of the universe obviously.

I wish we could've got his shit house Tigers team down in Sydney, but nah we had it far easier heading to NZ (origin affected), ACT (in winter), Townsville, Darwin and Melbourne.

And the Shitney games we did have were Penrith, Dogs at Belmore and Sharks the week after Origin 1 when they had zero participants (Nicho's 10mins doesn't count).

I like how the media have heaped pressure on Ezra Maam having to play the best defensive game of his career to stop AFB..

Because, TMM wont have Flegler, Haas, Carrigan running over the top of him...

The problem isn't just running over him or missing a tackle it's the ruck speed from a leg's tackles. Mam won't be able to hold him down or slow him down. They might not score on the Mam tackle, but they might score two tackles later.

You can kick it dead and get a straight line for seven tackles but no momentum. Still ways to slow it down and not give up open space and time.

Take any points on offer, field goal, penalty goals anything.

Warriors have to make it low scoring, it's a shootout and fast and attacking they can't go with the Broncos.

Rather a legs tackle then a non tackle like so many playing in the halves these days. Got to have faith in the defensive system, you’re there watching, I’m sure they have crash scenarios for it.

The full Freddy and the Eighth video this week was decent viewing - Joey told a story about meeting Eddie McGuire when he first signed at Nine. They didn’t bleep him swearing, was kinda refreshing that they just let it fly

Warriors are going to come out hard in the first 20, it's going to be a grind.

After that period is where we can hurt them. When AFB and Barnett go off, they lose a lot of that go forward and that's when the Knights started getting back in the game.

Our bench has been one of our shining lights in '23, Palasia and Piakura have been great providing that good go forward off the bench.

It's going to be interesting seeing how Kevvie handles the rotation.

The warriors have a 06 broncos story line.
An underrated side going about business led by some wily veterans still in their prime and a stack of stars on the rise.
Winning under the radar all season with a few sprinkled losses that people wrote them off for.
A loss in week one of the finals followed up by an emphatic victory against the knights.
Still given no chance in the prelim against the much more heavily backed Favourite to win the comp in their home territory .

🫣🫣😰😰😬😬
