POST GAME Preliminary Final: Broncos vs Warriors

Brilliant night. The game went exactly as i expected. We were just too good. The only worry i had really was Staggs and Cobbo. They looked poor in defence again, especially Kotoni who made a few bad reads he hasnt been doing lately. Seeing him in the sheds last night he looked very pale and pretty sick looking so i'm not sure if he was even 100%.

Dont know how they missed Walsh's forward pass but it didnt really have any bearing on the result. We were always in control even after our early errors.
So glad his 'off' night was lat night. Walshy also admitted he was a bag of nerves come game time so hopefully that little bit of experience last night will stand him in good stead next week. It would be nice if B. Slater would have a word with Walshy to settle him on game day. Purely as one Queenslander to another of course.

They carry on about the forward pass, it was obviously forward, they both were.

However, how the Warriors player passes the ball BEHIND Staggs who is simply moving forward to effect a tackle and that is not called forward, make no mistake about it, that was just as bad a call. The only difference is that it didn't directly lead to a try. We were in the open before the pass, so it's not like it was a game changing call that created an opportunity.

Next time, switch over to Nine. It's free. Also they have that whooshy clicker sound when something happens with the stats to remind you to look down at the chyron.
Unfortunately, living in Germany, I have very little choice in my live stream selection. Though maybe a VPN with some Ch9 online setup might work.

The 'forward' pass they called against Capes which meant the try was disallowed easily cancels out the missed forward pass that went behind Staggs and Walsh' forward pass that were missed.

It was swings and roundabouts as we were always in charge of the game last night.

Our 4th try Walsh could have easily smoked the fullback but he showed his maturity in making Klokstad commit to him leaving 4 Broncos in the clear.
Earlier in the year he would have hogged the balled and probably made the conversion kick by Reynolds in the corner instead of in front.

Yeah I was coming on here to say the same thing. That pass was so laughably forward but, again, the video ref can't call that. They didn't score directly off it but they scored the next set.

Then the Capewell flick to Herbie, on replay it was flat at worst, it got called as a forward pass so, again, even if we challenged it can't be overturned.

Their pass that was called forward from dummy half was definitely forward, I don't know how people are claiming it wasn't.

So in reality, they had one they got away with, and one we got away with, both leading to tries either immediately or the resulting set. But we also had a fair one taken off us. So if anything, we were stitched up more than they were in the forward passes stakes.

Is this about Billy Walters again? That guy sure has improved at 9 since we were all saying he was shit.

Did you think he's good enough to replace Reynolds at 7?

Everyone? We?

He's doing exactly what I said he'd do.

Big shout out to Reyno for his goal-kicking last night, too. 6/6.

With Pompey continually missing his shots, it was huge for Reyno to land all of his to give us that small psychological boost. Could have made a huge difference in the end if the Warriors landed some more tries.

The balance in the squad is just insane. If we play at our clinical best next week, and we can cut out the unnecessary errors, set restarts, and penalties, I just don't see how Penrith can keep up with us for 80 minutes.

We may be known as an attacking team, but it is our defensive scramble and last ditch efforts from the entire team that allows us go on these crazy 10-15 minute attacking onslaughts. We can suffocate Penrith with our defence, and can then punish them with our attack, seemingly out of nowhere. We have the play style and strike all across the park to really trouble them, and I think Penrith knows that.

Everything has led to this moment. It's kind of poetic that we played the defending premiers in the first game of the season, during the middle of the season, and now we get to play them in the last game of the season. The progress and improvements we have made since these last two encounters have us primed for this clash. What better way to finish the season than to beat the best in a grand final to become the best. I can't wait.

Misuse of 'we' again.
Yep I have always said billy just needed time to develop as a hooker. He was also pretty decent last year too and with his first pre season in the role he's improved out of sight.

Who knows, he will probably keep improving into next year and really feed it to mchunt.

Dally M hooker of the year was mentioned last night! Would be nice for him

It's not exactly a Patty Carrigan hip to the head of Selwyn which was then used to justify an opinion, but it's not far off. It's getting embarrassing.

Everyone? We?

He's doing exactly what I said he'd do.

He'll never take individual ownership of a bad take. He'll pull out a handful of random Twitter posts to prove it was unanimous.

Funny thing is if he'd been right it'd be an individual victory, no doubt.

If I was a broncos fan I would want Sutton over Gee. Sutton was determined to not call offside or 6 agains. He gets overwhelmed with big crowds. Gee doesn't referee like that. He will give a 6 again for sneezing.

That's because Gee is the second worst ref in the game ... Sutton is the 3rd worst

Egan made a miraculous recovery after that head knock to come back immediately after the mandatory 10 mins. Thought he would have needed a stretcher with how bad he was on the field.🫢

I'm sure the hia protocols were followed to the letter of the law xD. Or maybe he was milking which is par for the course for him.
