Prince Discussion

It would be much easier to overlook the defensive weakness of Prince if he was contributing more in attack. As it stands he isn't doing enough IMO. I don't think he looks confident his body can cope with him running the ball like he should be.

That's a fair enough comment, although I do think he is on the improve...... attack wise.

Not giant improvements but steadily getting better.

Agreed, he been improving quite noticeably over the last couple of weeks both in attack and defence. He pulled off some nice tackles on Inglis last game. I feel he needs to lead the attack more though, he and Wallace are hanging back a bit too much and not going out of their way to create something, though it is improving.

For someone of his experience he should of improved so much more than he has. He will never be better than an average player unfortunately, he's passed his time.

The output from Prince would be fine if he was a rookie imo. He has played first grade for over 10 years. We should be getting more from him.

and unfortunately this also applies to Peter Wallace.

Funny, I reckon if it wasn't for Prince we would have been in deep trouble in our last 3 games. So he's not Foran or Shaun Johnson. As long as he scores tries against teams like Souths and puts players thru holes like he did with Gillett a few games ago I'm relatively content

As for Wallace, he is doing his job getting the left side working and now that Hodges is back, I expect Prince to work the right side a whole lot more.

I'll be expecting a few good tries down the right hand side this week

Not sure all the criticism of Prince is warranted. Our outside backs are scoring tries this year, as good as Hoffman is going it's because he is being given opportunity. Our outside backs got hardly any early ball last year and we relied on our backrowers too much but Prince is at least giving them better service.

Brisbane are 4th for Try Assist this season having 20, Only 4 have come from the Halves with Wallace/Prince both having 2 each. Wallace had 2 in round 2 and hasn't since, Prince has had his 2 in recent games.

Not sure if it's part of the game plan or not but it seems most of our tries come from the centres, Reed has 5..

Oh I know the halves do their job, I'm just saying it seems Brisbane score more from their centers doing work than their halves.

Yeah Hoffman has been too quiet lately, Hasn't scored a single try in the last two games. Whats happened?

Prince has passed to Wallace in quite a few of our tries from first receiver. IMO he has been better than ppl seem to think, he at least has an understanding of early ball and playing with some width, something sadly lacking last year.

Early ball isn't exactly what I'd call a brilliant play by the halves. It can be good for the team, but it's just the passer going "Hey, here you go, do the rest yourself". It completely relies on the receiver.

Prince is doing some good things but some equally poor things IMO. He should be better.

Probably the test match where he played fullback, now his probably longing to play back there.
