The Broncos aligned with Burleigh in the Q Cup this year, (Teo, Setu & Michaels) will be on the look out for a new home in 2010.

Burleigh have again realigned themselves with the Titans.

It will be interesting to see what the Broncos do with their fringe players next year. There is a push to have the majority back playing for one club (Some talk of re-inventing Wests or Brothers)

please be wests [icon_pray.

I don't know if that will work in 2010 contractually, be interesting however.

Word is Wests are back in QCup next year.

West are not in the Qcup next year but they will be the major feeder for the broncos.

If they are not going to be in the Q Cup how could they be the major feeder club to the Broncos? eusa_think

So after one year with Easts, Cullen is heading back to the Phins for 2010 - my sources tell me he is being paid a 5 figure sign-on fee to lure him back!!!

I can't comment on what he got paid because I simply don't know but I'd imagine he just wanted to be back to where his heart lay. Good to have him back icon_thumbs_u

And nice try too FLutterby, try to deflect the attention away from Easts who have gone on the biggest spending spree in QLD Cup history! [icon_ee

They signed half of Ipswich's forward pack from this year, 4 players from Wynnum including their most talented in Georgiou, 2 of the Wests premiership winning Fogs Cup Side and they have with out a doubt gone a bought themselves the best halves combo in the Comp with Jace Van Dijk and Tim Smith.

They also threw plenty of Cash at Reddy duo Craig Priestly & Alwyn SImpson to head to Langlands in 2010 but the boys elected to stay in the red and white!

Plenty of money being throw around at Tiger Land! East Tigers - The best team Money can buy

Redcliffe don't have to spend much to encourage players. They just offer free dental work...

Redcliffe Dolphins...they have more teeth than the rest of the peninsula's population combined :P

Not trying to deflect anything - I know the Tigs have splashed a bit of cash around and probably needed to TBH but they for sure have not offered 1 player a sign-on fee of anything close to what Cullen is rumoured to be getting from the Dolphins (and that's before any actual match payments and/or bonuses). And hey I don't begrudge the guy if he can get that kind of money for Q-Cup good on him. And I rate Cullen, but I personally don't think any player is worth that much just to the Q-Cup.

I know a lot of guys who can get buy living on their money playing Q-Cup.

So do I, especially if you are playing in a winning team the match payments over the course of a season can see a player get by. But as most of them are on match payments only your team really needs to be consistently winning as for most there is a MASSIVE difference between a winning match payment and a losing match payment. In fact a few years ago there was one club that I won't name, who's players were getting $0 for a loss and they lost so often they players looked like they were going to have to pay the club at the end of the season because in most cases in Q Cup they only pay you a lump sum at the end of the season but before they pay you they take out the costs of insurance, playing uniforms, training gear, travel equalisation etc etc etc.

Lol, on the contrary I know some of the better players in QCup get say $1000 match fee and $1100 for a win, so they are going to earn $1000 win or lose.

Another intersting point is that Cup doesn't have a salary cap!

Yes, but there are not that many players in Q Cup that get a match fee and a win/loss fee - as I said in my original post MOST Q-cup players only get the win/loss fee.
