Great start by Norths, Ben Hunt looked sharp and like he'd been playing with these blokes for years. They could be a smokey for the top 5. Hmmm. I'll be supporting Norths & Burleigh this year.

Easts played easily one of the worst halves of footy I've ever seen. Lol!!!! [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

Kudos to ABC for putting on a good game of footy, I was glad it wasn't Pride v Tweed as per the program. icon_thumbs_u

The only reason they changed the TV game is because the satellite off the Gold Coast was damaged in the storm and they couldn't get a link. They only made the decision at 8am Saturday morning. The Easts guys simply weren't in the head space for a 2pm start - they came alive at 3 o'clock, which was their original kick off time.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it LOL

Seriously though Norths played really well - I don't think Hunt got tackled once all game! M Lockyer couldn't get a decent pass away all game and for some reason Easts left Trent Young on the bench for majority of the game - I know he's coming back from serious knee surgery but they were a completely different team with his excellent service out of dummy half. And what an awesome try from Kev Stephensen icon_thumbs_u

Was that the try where the Tigers guy was down stretching, Norths had numbers and Lockyer put the winger away for a 90m try? If so, yes that was good.

& if thats your brother like Coxy so mysteriously pointed out, he's got toe...of course there were so many tries scored that day, it's hard to remember who was what.

Just caught the last 10mins of Norths v Sunshine Coast on TV.. McGuire scored another two tries like last week.

He's got massive potential and is very agile for a prop forward. Hopefully he gets shot in the NRL sometime this year, would definitely make more sense to have him on the bench than Yow Yeh.

Norths were great, Ben Hunt not so great... but that Josh McGuire is a kid on the rise that's for sure! Sims looked powerful again, like he was a man amongst boys tbh. I'm sure he'll be back in top grade soon.

I'd say shocker is a bit harsh - but Easts certainly seemed to have him figured out and he was a lot quieter than usual - bet he has a blinder next week.
