QLD Squad 2020

is that official ... the report i read, was basically that it was speculated Hodges could be axed and Hodges said he wasn't sure what was going to happen, but he wanted to continue on in the role

Hodgo basically confirmed he is gone on NRL Tonight.

Get the entitled Broncos guys in and they will think they are good enough to be there...what could go wrong?

1. Boyd
2. Oates
3. Munster
4. Opacic
5. Coates
6. Milford
7. Croft (c)
8. Joffa
9. Macca
10. Flegler
11. Su'A
12. Tino
13. Carrigan

14. Hunt
15. Bullemor
16. Papalii
17. Riki

That's a team that know how to win last place but a couple of guys in there might make the losses respectable.

1 AJ Brimson
2 Valentine Holmes
3 Kurt Mann
4 Kurt Capewell
5 Dane Gagai
6 Cameron Munster
7 Daly Cherry-Evans
8 Josh Papalii
9 Jake Friend
10 Christian Welch
11 Jaydn Su'A
12 Felise Kaufusi
13 Jai Arrow

14 Ben Hunt
15 Moeaki Fotuaika
16 Tino Fa'asuamaleaui
17 Lindsay Collins

18 Phillip Sami
19 Ronaldo Mulitalo
20 Brenko Lee
21 Corey Allan
22 Hymel Hunt
23 Moses Mbye
24 Dunamis Lui
25 Harry Grant
26 Joe Ofahengaue
27 Patrick Carrigan

I am baffled as to who they take as halves cover? Hunt will be there but you'd think they'd carry an extra outside the 17.

Qld's forward stock look good, including hooker but man, the backline is absolute rubbish, no matter which bits and pieces you put there.

If Ponga is out, and Moose confirmed out, we should be this for game 1. 1-5 is pretty gross, but a really good forward pack, even considering having 2 bludges in Welch and Kaufusi in there.

21 Corey Horsburgh
22 Kurt Capewell
23 Edrick Lee
24 Lindsay Collins
25 Jake Turpin/Reed Mahoney
26 Ronaldo Mulitalo/Hamiso Tabuai Fidow
27 Beau Fermor/Patrick Mago

25-27 shouldn't be used without several injuries, purely just have them around the squad for experience.
Holmes straight onto the right wing for game 2 replacing either Oates or Lee with Gagai shifting.

A) Oates is trash
B) He's been ruled out of the series through injury

Replace him with Edrick Lee and I think that's close to the best 17 we can name for Game 1.

When was he ruled out? I haven't seen anything announced. Oates is more likely to perform well than Lee, but if Oates is out then bring Lee in for 1 game.

At least if Darius plays we can then host his Wife's Baby Shower on the field at Lang Park 15 minutes after we lose Game 3.

It's just a game after all.

I reckon it was Bennett who decided to cut McGuire from the Broncos. Don't think he's a fan.
You would be incorrect if you believe Bennett himself:

But a furious Bennett finally spoke to set the record straight, including surrounding the exit of club favourite McGuire.

The release of McGuire, who had played 194 games for Brisbane, was a perplexing one given he was seen by Bennett as the leader to replace Sam Thaiday in the forward pack.

Even now, Bennett still struggles to make sense of McGuire’s departure, which came just 19 days after Anthony Seibold was named as the future Broncos coach.

“The truth is I never wanted to lose Josh,” Bennett told the Courier Mail.

“I had a meeting two weeks before Josh sought a release and it revolved around him taking more responsibility for 2019.

“We had a good relationship, so I was surprised two weeks later when Peter Nolan intimated to me that Josh didn’t want to be at the club.”

The blame then fell onto Bennett, who says there is more to the story than what he has been told.

“In the end, I felt there was more to it than I’d been told,” he said.

Thanks ... happy to be proven wrong. I guess that follows the story that Seibold was quite anti "senior players" - except his favourite Darius.

It’d be nuts to leave McGuire out. He’s been our best forward for 3 years and has come up with some big plays to QLD back into games.

Corey Norman?

Hopefully Hess, Kerr and Coates are just making up the numbers for opposed training sessions.

Grant on the other hand is a great pick. Even if he's not in the side for Game 1, I'm confident he will get a run in Game 2 once he's towelled up our other options on the training paddock.

The squad named so far is horrible. Hymel Hunt, Josh Kerr and Xavier Coates are closer to reserve grade than origin. Seriously in what way is Kerr better than McGuire? Kurt Mann missing out is also very silly.

Kurt Mann missing out is a fucking joke. He should literally be one of the first players picked.
