QLD Team

Inglis and Tonga have had a head clash at training today, Doctors are checking GI for an injured Jaw. Just saw this on Foxsports. If the worst happens we bring Tuqiri in.

Looks like a positive sign that they are training intensely.

No way. Comparing Smith to Ballin is like comparing Langer to Sandow.

I meant in the sense that there would be renewed enthusiasm and certainly no complacency - I am well aware of the skill of Smith despite his unfortunate club, I was in no way suggesting Balin is a better hooker than Smithy

Ballin is still bloody good.

Smith is awesome though, sorry to sound like a League nerd but I just watched Origin 3 '09 today and the guy is headed towards the sideline before he stays on the field to stop Watmough from scoring. He remains on there for the majority of the game and is by far one of the Maroons better players in that game.

It's a shame his Storm team mate, Slater, was poor.

We weren't talking about what you do in your spare time, Scotty.

Cooper Cronk worked tonight, because we were ahead and had no injuries. I really can't see him being of value the same way Berrigan and Hunt (who have filled his role previously) if we do get injuries or are behind with 15 to go.

There won't be too many changes for the 2nd game. Only players to be considered would be Smith and Hannant, if fit. Ballin will obviously make way for Smith, but who for Hannant? Taylor or Costigan?

As I said in the other thread, if all of our players from tonight are fit for game 2, the only change is Smith in for Ballin. That way we don't have to worry about reoccurence of an injury in Hannant's case for example.

I reckon Cronk could still provide a valuable contribution off the bench if we were under the pump. He's not just a halfback or hooker, he can also fill in the back row easily. Remember he was a utility when he went to Melbourne and has played first grade in the back row before. No reason for him to lose his spot.

Costigan has to be the one to go. Taylor provides too much x factor to be left out.

No one has to go.
EXACT same team except Smith for Balin.
