I'm really hoping Patterson makes a big one. I really want to see Qld win but as I've mentioned, I really rate this guy. I also don't think he is that far from selection if he can string a few scores together. Why isn't Renshaw playing?

Knee injury.

He really responded last year to batting at three. Tough 100's in Perth and Hobart. 100's and big scores for Australia A this winter helps him too.

He's come back a bit too from hundred on debut- youngest Shield 100 ever. Then was out of the team for two years. He's got a bit of fight in him.

When would you blood him? Is this year too early? I wouldn't play him against SA necessarily but what about Pakistan if some of the other guys don't perform? Who do you think would be in front of him?

Both Smith and Patterson are batting very well. Got NSW out of trouble.

He's started well this season!

Has to be timed- him scoring runs and spot open. I wouldn't be in huge hurry. Putting on 200 with the Test captain won't hurt if a spot comes up this summer.

Blues 2/229

Patterson 108
Smith 97

start well but at tea they need some wickets. Bulls just became a bit straight and predictable.

The Blues could've scored more but 327 is still a good score for this game. The NSW bowling attack is excellent and the Bulls will have to put in a top batting performance if they are to challenge it.

Declaring is interesting- they should have declared earlier to make Bulls bat at the hard period not the easier time at night.

Bulls 1/39.

Great to see Burns score a century. Probably has secured his spot for the WACA.
