Queensland Cup 2012 Discussion

Former U20's fullback Todd Murphy is having a good game for Sunshine Coast.

Broncos squad members Slyney, Gagai and Capewell all played well today again. Redcliffe smashed Burleigh 32-6.

Decent results for all the Broncos affiliated sides.

Wynnum killed Central Qld

Redcliffe dominated a strong Burleigh line up

And the young Norths side drew a strong Tweed Heads line-up.

Good stuff and the match on 9 was a lot of fun.

Gagai and Capewell both playing well against Ipswich this arvo. Liking Capewell's enthusiasm.

QLD Cup is a really good standard these days IMO. Better than some NRL matches (coughParraPenriffcough)

Redcliffe were a little off today, Ippy turned up to play but were genuinely outclassed.

Thought Ivan and Berryman were stand outs for the Dolphins.

Gagai put in a respectable performance. Very safe at the back and ran the ball back well. Not his flashiest game but definitely acceptable.

Thought Capewell was pretty ordinary. Couple of good touches but a lot of strange options and some poor kicks too.

Simpson's out for a number of months injured, I honestly have no idea where Spence is..

A big 70-18 win for the Dolphins over the Souths-Logan Magpies.

Broncos Player Run Down

Nick Slyney - Huge first half. Made plenty ground with every run and was damaging in defence. Set up a try with a great off load. Not sure if he was injured but spent a fair bit of the 2nd half on the bench

Luke Capewell - Close to the best on ground. Was in everything and absolutely tore the Magpies to shreds. Scored 2 tries himself and had a hand in at least 4 others.

Dave Hala - Scored one of his trademark "Cannon Ball" and made one really good break but otherwise was fairly quiet.

Dane Gagai - Scored the first try of the day off a spilt bomb. Looked dangerous but was fairly well marked out of the game.

Aaron Whitchurch - Played outside Gagai and didn't see a lot of ball

Geez I was at the game and didn't realize how good Capewell was. He's clearly too good for QCup but just doesn't seem NRL standard, although maybe training with the Broncos would fix that up. Pretty confident he'd do a good job if Wallace got called up for NSW.

There's a guy in the Sunshine Coast team with the last name Wanka :haha:

OK, I've never heard of him before and wanted to know something about him.
