Roosters Vs. Broncos *SPOILER* & POST GAME TALK

yep, the broncos are a disgrace to the front rowers club. The roosters showed them how it's done. Cheap shots and then rev eachother up.

The broncos are just lucky the nrl haven't implemented the radical plan of abolishing half time.

Rooster Shillington accuses Broncos of dirty play

http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegrap...001023,00.html
"All the dirty stuff started after Ogre's first hit," Shillington said. "My job is to back that up. It was good to feel that dominance."

Like I said before, this backs my statements. Forwards protect forwards. Shillington's job was to back up O'Meley after his big hit. Out forwards should have ripped O'Meley's head off his shoulders.

Gee Gee and Tallis would have. Someone in our pack needs to become the enforcer...prepared to take some sitdown time if need be, but O'Meley wouldn't have got away with that against Warriors, Storm, Canberra, Rabbits, Dragons, even Pritchard and the Panthers pack would have let him have it all.

Broncos had the last laugh though. We won.

Seemed to me that shrek had a target on him after the Clinton hit. Saw more than a few attempts at a big hit on him during the game and he did end up being on the business end of some heavy tackles.

I thought Thaiday really lifted after the Clinton hit, he put on some good tackles of his own

On Friday night in the absence of injured teammate Willie Mason, he took it upon himself to lead the Roosters pack. And he didn't just nail Clinton. Brisbane full-back Karmichael Hunt bore the brunt of a fired-up O'Meley and Broncos hooker Michael Ennis paid the price when he made a dart from dummy half, wearing a sneaky pair of knees for good measure

Has anyone read this article??

What the hell "a sneaky pair of knees" its like the jouno is actaully applauding Ennis got Kneed in the head!!

The whole article talks about how damaging O'meley was and then right at the end manages to inform us that the roosters didnt actaully win!

Wow the roosters bashed us in the first half and put on some nice hits. Shame no one told them that you dont score points for that, you have to actually cross the line. We also saw the roosters 5th tackle repitoire tonight; boot the hell out of the ball and hope for the best!!

What a bunch of pansy arse, latte drinking nancy boys

Go the broncos!

I really enjoyed watching the game last night. As soon as the second half started, I had a very confident feeling we would win it. The Roosters were playing dirty (legally, but dirty), and I love how they wasted all their energy doing that in the first half. They just couldn't compete in the second half and if not for a few too many errors, and a few bombed tries, the scoreline would have been so much better.

Glad to see the Broncos still going hard even in the last few minutes - their fitness looked great.

Locky - brilliant again but I thought the forwards stood up well allowing Wallace and Ennis to play their own game (how good was Ennis's 40/20!). Awesome try from Kemp and I'm glad the confidence is finally showing through.

Well done Broncos!!! [eusa_clap.gi

Nick Kenny - well he just continues to prove wrong those who say he is just 'average'. He's going to be great next year filling in for Hannant.

I was one of the people who said he was average!

Don't i look like a fool. My opinion has greatly changed after last night. He stood up and led our pack. icon_thumbs_u

Good to see mate, and something tells me you're glad to be proven wrong on this occasion [icon_wink

Plenty not happy with Ennis but I thought he was good last night. Some of the kicks he made weren't real good but I don't think they caused us any harm, and the 40/20 was the biggest play of the night. Was the perfect 40/20. Not sure if Minichiello knew that Ennis kicked in from inside the 40 but even if he did, Mini was never going to get there. Big play.

Sour grapes definitely. Pot... Kettle... Black!

O'Meley = GRUB. Once a GRUB always a GRUB. [icon_thumbs_do

Anthony Tupou, slamming the ball into Sammy T's head to "celebrate" a try - GRUB. And all his team-mates who gathered in the seconds following for that massive wank-fest - GRUBs.

Anasta diving for a penalty when tackled by Hunt just as he kicked the ball - GRUB.

Look at the scoreboard and suck it up Shillington - and I hope enough bottom teams win this week to put you and your PATHETIC Rooters out for 08. Oh this victory is STILL so sweet! _woohoo_

I can't credit this talk of our pack not backing each other up. They knew they had at least 1 more week of finals footy to play so no point in getting rubbed out by the judiciary for sinking to a Roosters-like low.

See it's a beautiful thing in my mind that the Roosters forwards threw ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING at our boys, drew blood and got on top. Like a big punching boxer landing some heavy shots early and having his opponent reeling but still standing. The bell rings but the big fella who was throwing all the haymakers has spent himself: his opponent is still standing and ready to outlast and win by decision. Good enough for me.

I didn't read every post but this is my 2 cents.

- Our forwards got owned hard. After Clinton got ktfo, nobody really stood up and took ownership. Frankly, our forward pack has no cnut about it whatsoever. Hannant just does his thing and doesn't get revved up, Thaiday should be getting amongst it a bit more, and the less said about Parker the better. O'Meley is a crap footballer and to let him dominate our pack is downright embarassing. His shoulder charge should have been penalised, but I can't recall anyone coming in and grabbing O'Meley or pushing him or anything. We lack **** - kind of like Shaun's bucks night. Bring Taylor in the side for Parker. Yeah he is improving but still not doing enough.

- Everybody who gives Hodges and Ennis a hard time about being grubs, grow some balls. Football is a contact sport. At least somebody in our team was standing up for themselves and their teammates rather then letting the Roosters pack go all over the top of us.

- Lockyer is the second coming.

Yeah taht's all well and good, but when we come up against a half decent attacking side (ie Storm), if our pack gets dominated like it did in that 1st half we will be down by 20 before we know it. Losing Clinton was massive cause he actually has a bit of mongrel in him.

I don't want to sound like I'm taking away from that win because it was an wesome game of footy. Kemp's try was probably the best try I've ever seen by a Broncos outfit EVER, and I believe we are in good stead for the GF. But in reality, a side with a good halfback and deadly backs would have carved on the back of that Roosters go forward and D.

You're not old enough to remember 92/93 then?

I still can't credit that line of criticism though Je$ter. Third man in is asking for trouble from the ref and from the judiciary. Besides no one would have seen that it was a shot to the head until the replay. If they spotted a swinging arm on the ground I reckon they might have come in.

Thank god for Teo and Setu next year. They are some really tough forwards, putting the hits on.

Kenny can put on a big hit himself as well. We'll be right next year. Let's focus on the present.

I agree, not the best ever, but this year is the first time since the early 90s that I've seen glimpses of the attack we used to be known for. There have been some really spectacular long-range tries, and they've been a lot of fun to watch at times.
