But he is one who is on the record as not liking us, so I think you’re flogging a dead horse there.
Wasn't it his dad not him specifically?

That said there are plenty of QLDers with grudges against the broncos(like tino) because they where overlooked as kids even though they forget Broncos have more kids under their book then any other team in the comp.

Tino wasnt really overlooked... it came down to either him or Dfifi.

Both were massive talents coming through the age groups

He did have a grudge against us early in his career because we overlooked him as a teenager and that gave him the shits.

But whether he still has that grudge, I doubt it.

I think Fifita and Tino were the backrow pairing in the same team (may have been qld??).

My recollection about it being Tino vs Haas is around Origin time when they were playing for Qld and NSW respectively and with Tino being at Melbourne at the time (and maybe being hyped as as the new Gold Coast glitter recruit) they built up a rivalry story.

I'm not sure... would be one for the resident historians around here.

I thought Haas and TIno had a stink in an origin game and the media ran with that. There's every chance they spent their teen years playing against each other because all 3 (Tino, Fifita and Haas) were born within a couple months of each other and it might've been a carry over from an 18's origin match or something??

It would seem that eventually we had to decide between 2 out of 3 of them and we went with Haas and Fifita... with Tino signing for the storm.

I thought it was along the lines of Storm going after both Tino and Fifita, and were happy to grab whichever one we couldn't keep.

Our pathway team does a pretty good job all things being fair and I'm so glad that now we are providing a legitimate development pathway again. This is a side of guys who have come up through our system who are still youngish:

1. Walsh
2. Coates
3. Staggs
4. Farnworth
5. Cobbo
6. Dearden
7. Boyd
8. Haas
9. Simpkin
10. Carrigan
11. Fifita
12. Riki
13. Tino

14. Paix
15. Flegler
16. Willison
17. Robati

Now granted, halves are really thin but that is competition wide. Aside from that, we are definitely identifying top level talent in most, if not all, other positions.

I'm no historical just did a quick bit of research so could be wrong but
Tino grew up loving the Broncos was in the Broncos development program at age 12 like alot of kids, he lived out Gympie ways and would travel to play for sunshine coast falcons I guess because that's a better comp (like Selwyn did)
Storm picked him up from the falcons under 18s side
