**** I forgot the fucking POTM.

Will do it now.

If there was a formal complaint then the ref should have taken a couple of minutes to review the available audio. The bunker often takes several minutes to come to a conclusion over whether or not a punch was thrown in a melee, this shouldn't be any different.

It's a send off offence yet we were the team that had to defend a penalty after having an opposition player allegedly racially abuse one of ours.

That is not going to work, every time you are under defensive pressure just call out, I need a review please think he called me a name.

That's why it can't be a sendoff either unless the ref heard it clearly and knows it was said.

Same as biting or eye gouging, you have to get it right and you have your say and an audio/video reviewed.

I am going to say Spencer says he was talking about his hair.

Gee is awful and always has been.

The whole notion of applying discretion to the rules to allow a ‘good game’ is ridiculous - it just encourages teams to ignore the rules and push the envelope further and further knowing they won’t get punished. It becomes a race to the bottom on who can cheat the most and get away with it.

If the rules need to be ‘ignored’ or ‘worked around’ to produce a good game then clearly there’s a problem with the rules, or a problem with enforcement of the rules. Penalise teams that break the rules until they adapt their style of play, don’t just ignore the rules because teams refuse to abide.

The Roosters clearly knew (or at least suspected) that there would be no penalties called and were all over every single play the ball knowing they wouldn’t get pinged.

Roosters were better prepared than us and probably played as well as they could've hoped for. They would've beaten most sides yesterday.
With all that in mind and Brisbane looking disjointed with the ball and having a shuffled middle forward rotation, the fact we were still in the game until those late yardage errors shows how good we actually are and we're not going anywhere and we will be right in the thick of it at the top of the ladder.

Our left edge will absolutely tear teams apart this season. The wider field will help us.
Mariner looked very good and cast aside any doubt about why he was selected.
Defence looks elite again.

Our next game is back at Suncorp against a Souths team who based on yesterday, have more question marks than us heading into round 2. Staggs and Cobbo will also have a much better individual match-up.

This was bound to happen especially after his idiotic post game interview. Even Cody Walker commented on his on his Story with that interview. It’s not just broncos players thinking it’s not “fun and games” when you make comments like that. It’s very disappointing that after such a huge promotion for these Vegas games, this is what the NRL come back with and what it’ll remembered for.

One a bit from left-field, although relations between the Broncos and Roosters are likely to be a bit frosty for a while, would it be worth sounding them out about Angus Crichton? He’s clearly on the outer at the Roosters and off contract at the end of this year.. If he’s ready to play (and I know that sounds a bit insensitive after his recent mental health struggles) he could certainly be an asset for the Broncos to strengthen the back row depth.. It would also free up $3-4 million of salary cap space for the Roosters even if they chipped in a bit, so win-win ?

Dumb fckin line by Patty .
Ran an out ball line when Ezra was passing into the hole inside him .
But I can excuse it because he was playing out of position .
Very. Also first game… perhaps Ezra shouldn’t have thrown it etc etc…

Adam Gee's mic makes it very clear that 'It's a spectacle and we need to keep it moving'. (Says this when talking to Spencer after the report).

No chance they were doing any investigation at the time of the report.

Clear instructions from above regarding the 'spectacle'. Which is also why we couldn't buy a penalty for ruck infringements when the chooks get hammered by them usually. Whistle was buried as deep in the pocket as possible which Roosters took advantage of and we didn't.
Agreed. We were 4 points behind with 11 mins on the clock and were beginning to shift momentum. The lack of a send off and penalty cost us the game.

Not to mention the mental impact it had on our boys - they should’ve been given a few minutes to cool off anyway. To me this is, assuming it happened, no different to a Barry Hall-esque punch off camera that the ref didn’t see. In fact, it’s probably worse if you consider its mental impact on Mam and our side as a whole who just, they allege, heard their mate called a racial slur.

"It's all just fun and games on the field, that's it."

Quite a unique way to deal with the allegations when asked. Clearly lacking brain cells.
This is a bloke that got reduced to tears and had to be restrained by team mates after being sprayed with water. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot
