Appreciate this answer… but that was a long fucking time ago.

I’m not trying to say it’s not ‘racist’, but it’s not like he called him an n word or equivalent.

My kids have called me a baboon and gorilla because I’m quite fat around the middle… racist kids much?

Appreciate this answer... but [insert completely dismissive text here]. That's what you should have said.

You don't get it, clearly. Probably never will.

It's absolutely context related. Your kids are fat shaming, raise them better.

I have learnt this weekend on this forum that common sense is not very common. We really have white guys comparing themselves to an indigenous man and saying because they don’t get offended at insults he shouldn’t either. Ah yes, because it’s the exact same……….

Remember the media's hounding of a 13 yr old schoolgirl for calling Adam goodes an ape? Where are they this time? It was on every channel when it happened.
Because it's easy to bully a 13 year old and they get to feel like big tough guys when they do it. Harder for them when it is against an NRL darling club and a guy that could put them in a coma.

Notice how silent Phil Gould is about this.

Normally he has his say on everything.

Of course it doesn't, it's your kid.

The context of the situation and the intent is what the big issue is here. For some people being called a monkey means nothing, for someone else it means a lot. You won't know how much it means, neither will I.

You just have to respect how it makes them feel and show a bit of compassion. It's really not that hard of a thing to do.

But it is not about you. It is a bigger issue than how things would make you feel.

Your 7 year old fat shaming may not affect you, but you not calling it out as inappropriate means that your 7 year old accepts this as normal/reasonable and behaviour that is not upsetting to anyone. Your 7 year old then grows up and begins fat shaming preteen and teen girls already sensitive about their bodies leading to more harmful reactions for them (I.e. eating disorders).

Similar issue here. If someone calls me a monkey, it might not affect me, but by ignoring it, that lax attitude continues and can be more harmful to others. Accepting that indigenous folk who have historically been treated as subhuman can be called monkeys without repercussions is fucking disgrace. If you can't see that, or have the empathy to see how this may affect others growing up in that community and seeing that you are still viewed by some as subhuman (and this is being accepted as a simple sledge) would have on a person, it says quite a bit about yourself.

PS I am not a lefty, I simply have a reasonable amount of empathy.

Look at the facts though, it isn't the whole forum, it is two blokes who can't help themselves but be contrarian. The forum as a whole is behind our little number 6.

Kevvie has praised team for standing by Mam.

He's also praised Patty and Staggs for their "involvement" in the hotel altercation

He said that a bench shakeup is being considered as we missed Patty in the middle.

Finally he said that he'd be happy for 4 new teams to head to Vegas next year, it has been reported that we were happy to be a part of the inaugural event though

Kevy is deadset a great coach. Backs his players 100% and you can tell they love him for it.

Just read something saying that any judiciary hearing is not likely to occur until next week as the teams are still in transit back to Australia.

If I was the nrl, and continuing to do the Vegas thing, I would also consider sending two women's teams down.

I actually think that would attract a lot of interest from the US audience and media

I believe it's because judiciary hearings don't happen until after the completion of a round and Round 1 hasn't finished yet.

The players are already back in Australia.
