I think Farah was off contract last season, we really should have went all out for him instead of Inglis who really isn't needed as we have a great backline. The Titans have a good hooker and still tried their best yet we didn't even bother...

Berrigan would have been worth a try but for some reason we didn't even bother chasing him either(or did we??). IMO he could of went well on a one or two year contract with us playing hooker even if it is just a stop-gap solution.

I think De Gois is the only other hookre off contract this year and if Macca doesn't step it up big time then we should be going all out for him. At the very least we should try Wallace there at some point as he is on contract for a while yet but the problem with that is we don't really have anyone at halfback if that happens so if Hunt doesn't play well at 7 there isn't really anyone to buy for that position..

And as much as I hate Ennis why did we let him go.... He could have easily been our no.9 for years to come.

And I'll bet you weren't saying that at the time. And nobody would've been, because at that time it was widely believed that Macca would be our long term hooker after some very good performances in the second half of 2009 and the first month or so of 2010.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing broncospwn.

No thanks, one of the worst defensive hookers in the comp.

As I said in the other thread, I don't know how long that Sam Williams kid from the Raiders is under contract for, but I'd make a play for him. Totally sh!ts over both Wallace and Hunt! Would leave room for Wallace at hooker... [icon_shru

Remember when Wallace was "That awesome kid from penrith, we should make a play for him" ?

I don't think we need to be recruiting any young halfbacks. I have faith in Hunt or Norman to fill the void if needed.

No way, Hunt doesn't have enough speed and Norman is a second receiver. Simple as that.

No I don't.... It wasn't me for sure!

I know it was only one game, but all the ingredients are there.

.

What a complete load of trash. Hunt is fast enough to be a halfback and Norman could easily play half or 5/8th IMO. Instead of writing them off before they even get a decent shot perhaps you should try using some patience and stop speeding.

Since when does a halfback need speed? Alfie, Joey?

I'm not talking speed like a winger or FB of course, but Hunt's speed is comparable with a front rower, and that's not good enough for a HB to take on the line IMO. No comparison possible with either one of those.[icon_shru

Sure, let's chalk that one up to Wallace... [icon_lol1.

P.S. I meant king, not kind.

3 and he proved himself in 2 of those years.

One game in, and we're already looking to buy other players...must be a new record on here.

It will be broken though don't worry! BHQ is hopeless in a crisis!!

Has nothing to do with the Broncos game mate. I already loved what I saw from the Raiders kid in Toyota cup, but he stepped it up in the NRL today, albeit it was against the Sharks...
I'm not saying we should get him now! [icon_non

I hope Wallace turns it around he certainly has the talent to do so although I think he may be better suited to hooker. Only time will tell no doubt he will get a decent run at halfback this season.

I wasn't just referring to your post, I was also talking about the De Gois post.

Williams played well today, but let's give Wallace, Hunt, Norman and Cullen a go before we start looking to import some rookie.

i think wallace is still the long termhalf for brisbane. i think he needs to stand back a little further give himself a little more time and locky to take a little pressure off him now hes feeling 100% again.

wallace has tried to run the team alone for some time now. from the year locky got injured and even last year locky looked tired and short on speed and agility. he shouldnt need to do that this year take a step further back get some decent srvice (passed directly to him and not through second rowers..) and start using the time wisely.
