So you reckon we'd go better with Hunt at halfback?

Yes I do.

I reckon we might go better with Hunt at 7, but can't be sure.

In any case, after 1 game is not the time to try. Give Wal until round 5 I reckon.

Why? You never have anything decent to say around here, you're a tard.[/quote:g46o2unv]

you were sucking him off all last year when he sucked and he still sucks now. Wallace has gone backwards as a player not forwards. Give Wallace a few more games if he doesn't pull his finger out then we gamble with Hunt simple as that.

I was not sucking him off, I was being reasonable.[/quote:iy336lc7]

More like Deluded, feels like we have been waiting an eternity for Peter Wallace to be anything other than rubbish.

Basically this.

If Wallace doesn't prove himself by then, it's time to give Hunt his shot.

i must say people are being very positive about gagai. he cost a try with that union ball, if you watch the replay some of his defensive reads weren't great. his scoots weren't fantastic and his speed left me wondering whether he has enough for a winger. yes i've a big fan of kemps but questions need to be asked when hes waiting in the wings.
im not trying to be too negative on the kid but this is NRL.

Stop right there.
He made the most meters out of the back from the Broncos.
Everytime he got the ball he looked dangerous.
The only defensive error I saw from him last night was when there was a two on one overlap.
But apart from that it was a 6/10 game.

I think jjoyce's post is more a "I want my Kempy back" than a reasonable view on Gagai's performance last night.
A bit like Beads, who let's his man love for Kemp and especially Hunt, colour his views... [icon_evillaugh

I'd love Kemp back but it won't and shouldn't happen at the moment. Gagai was far from bad on his debut IMO. As for Hunt he had a shocker but provided more to us then McCullough.

I reckon focusing on individuals is really a waste of time when the team has little if any structure or direction.

Headless chooks in attack. Seems not much has changed over the years.

Like, our 1, 6, 7 and 9 did nothing except mostly run laterally looking for non-existent runners. No depth or width. Hoffman was brilliant at what he did, but I don't recall too many attempts to come up into the line.

He should learn from Bowen's attacking game.

Gillett is a runner. He really didn't do much 'cos he wasn't allowed to. Same with T'eo.

Thaiday is not a prop. Parker is, dare I say it, not a lock. He should be in the back row and told to run and defend straight and hard and that's it.

Put a player at lock and it gives them a mind set they can run sideways, and try lots of fancy things. Parker is not that kind of player. Gillett is. He should be lock. I don't buy the drivel that lock is not a specialist position. It is an opportunity to give a running ball player (like Gillett) a chance to ... run and ball play.

If McCullough throws another dummy, he should be put in nappies.

The Cows didn't win. Thurston did, 'cos we let him.

I am so looking forward to see how the new coach gives our great side the structure and direction we need to get our stars to shine.

It seemed to me last night that Lockyer was getting cut out of the play an awful lot. I don't know whether it was a deliberate game plan to try and give McCullough and Wallace more responsibility or whether those two were deliberately going away from him. But in either case, on the evidence of last night neither of those two should have a significant play making responsibility, particularly anywhere in the opposition 20 metres.

I have always felt that Wallace was being given a pretty hard time on here, but that last kick play has done it for me. He can't have any vision or game sense to think that the kick option was the best play given the layout of the backline and the tackle count. He does my head in. I wouldn't even give him 5 games, give him three, if there isn't some sign of improvement send him back to Q-Cup.

We have to work on our execution particularly in the opposition's 30 metre zone, we had nothing last night. We had enough possession to win two games. I just hope that this game is not going to come back to bite us.

Perhaps Wallace was expecting his backs to be awake?

Maybe if the backline was aware that the kick option is always on in the opposition 30 then it would have worked. It was a good kick.

The problem was the backline was set for it through the hands, yet Wallace kicked anyway. I suppose the fact he didn't kick it out on the full and got a repeat set makes it a good kick

Yeah in the 60th minute not in the 79.5th minute lol.
Unless he was trying to get a penalty by a cowboys player tackling hima fter he kicks it... eusa_think [icon_razz1

The backline was set? [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

Yeah, I suppose it was. To get tackled flatfooted.

There was nothing "set" last night. It was all make it up as you go along.

Na. They should.

Why? What a counter-productive suggestion. Let's get rid one one shot halfback and replace him with another. Yep, valid point Nashy!

The point is. Wallace was shit all of last year. And he was ever worse last night. He has to go. I don't care who or what we replace him with, anyone would be a step forwards over his pathetic skills.

I can't blame Wallace for the kick in the end.
Sometimes you think something is on but isn't really on, you still put the kick in regardless.
