POST GAME Round 1 - Broncos vs Eels

To a certain extent. But injuries and Eels getting late tackle restarts influenced that.

Need to be better, but that was a solid dig against incredible adversity.
Injuries and the ref hurt us, but not as much as our own brain explosions, Mead, Croft, etc.

We get rid of those and we’d have won comfortably as Parra never gets back into the game in the first place.

But these second half fadeouts aren’t changing. We had lots last year. We did it again in the trial against the Cows and again tonight.

Regardless of the whatifs and buts, the reality is, it was 24 nil to the Eels in the second half tonight and we couldn‘t find a way to stop their momentum once they got some, or find a point...

I don't get what happened. I'm never usually wrong about the scoreline

@ningnangnong, you're off the hook Calling out this prick at the next BHQ BBQ.

On the game I can't say anything more than what's already been said. The loss of Coates then Lodge and then Lodges replacement in Asiata really fucked us. The less said about the officiating the better but I'm still firmly against the 6 again rule...it hands way too much control to the refs with zero accountability. There were many moments to question but I just don't understand how that call wasn't 6 again? It was either 6 again after being touched by an Eel or it was a knock on against the Broncos...in what world was that just play on? Anyway, as it's been stated elsewhere, this is definitely not the same team as last year, so that's a start.

Yeah you can't count out the injuries, it was the deciding factor imo. No injuries we go on with that, instead of blokes out on their feet when the game is there to be won.

The last 10 minutes was deadset touch footy. I dislike these rules so much
And unfortunately if you did voice your displeasure at these rules you’d just be shouted down as a sore loser

But as Kevv said, we need to find a way to win even when those things happen. We are learning that again hopefully.

But they keep on fucking happening. Over and over and over again.

yea so far ill reserve judgement for a few rounds but initial thoughts from the 3 games i seen so far the games turn into a cluster **** messs with lots of errors. but maybe the fair weather fans that vlandy's wants to pander the game to love it. so what can you do this is just how nrl is going to be atm and it makes it twice as bad for broncos fans atm because of how poor we have been

First try was the dart from dummy half by Mahoney who got under two defenders.

Some rubbish by Carrigan around the tackle, too slow getting back up, making it difficult for our defenders on the line. Was poor play from us, pure and simple.
Brown dropped the ball plain and simple , and Turpin grounded the footy. 2 shit decisions by the refs, Mahoney and fergo shouldn't have scored and that's on us , go's both ways in this one.

Yes, mistakes keep happening again and again and as you improve, you make less and less mistakes. A coach the players want to play for will help.

Anyone that is thinking of ending it after that performance needs to **** off.

The boys played their ass off amid some bad luck in injuries.
What makes me want to switch off is the officiating.
Deadset, when they denied Turps try, that did me.
