PRE-GAME Round 1 - Broncos vs Rabbitohs

Is Chris Walker part of the Broncos squad? Does he have an NRL contract?

fair swing in the betting markets for this one ... Opened at Broncos $1.80 (-1) Souths $2 (+1) ... now its Souths $1.60 (-4) Brisbane $2.30 (+4)

hope the money keeps coming for Souths, augers well for brisbane

The Integrity Unit Rabbitoh report is also due out shortly.

As Tod Balym says
@balym_CMail: If Sutton/Burgess don't get a ban from NRL for Arizona it's hard to see how they can keep Titans banned. Either nrl sets standard or not.

Just a one week ban should do it ....

Sutton has been cleared to play.

Souths fined $20K over the incident.

I think it's bit of a farce. Souths really let the NRL down on that occasion and I think they should have faced tougher penalties.

Its South's so what do you expect
They pretty much had the trophy spoon fed to them last year with every call going their way. Did you honestly think a player from their organisation would be stood down? They let a women basher play out the year with them ffs

I think Broncos will surprise everyone in this game. They may not win, but I don't think they will lose the way people are saying they will lose.

They need to be taken seriously. They need to get that aura back and giving it to the premiers would be a great start. Beating them would be even better.

I don't think it will be an easy night for Souths.

These are the kind of games Bennett coached teams usually thrive in.

One factor which may be telling is refereeing of the ruck and wrestle. Time will tell how it plays out throughout the season, but I imagine the refs will be keen to exercise their authority on this point.

Having trained accordingly, we might expect Souths to concede a few penalties if they aren't equally prepared.

Be nice if they were pinged for walking off the mark too. Borderline ridiculous what they got away with last year.

Woohoooooo, three more sleeps, very pumped, in fact Big Kev excited. Realistically, if Souths play like they did against St Helens, it will be very difficult for us. I think we have to pressure Reynolds and Keary all night and do our best to try and control Inglis, because if he is on and motivated, he can win it for them by himself.

Even more so, if we play like St. Helens...

Souffs were good, but they got the game handed to them on a silver platter. I hope we won't commit those mistakes!

Teams actually announced at 5pm, hope Garbutt is in for Dodds.

Without Vidot, Hunt will need to make at least 10-20 more metres per kick coming out of our half (onto the chest of Greg Inglis on the 30m = pain all night for us).

Reed, Maranta, Kahu - sideways running out of dummy half smashed backwards by Souths massive forward pack.

Vidot, the unstoppable rhino with 3 lions on his back, gets the go forward.

Souths still have that powerful forward pack but I think without Sam Burgess they become just a shade more predictable. Maybe enough for us to pin back some points.

The Burgess boys are still monsters, and Reynolds seems to have just taken his game up to another level in the off season. And of course, GI.

The corresponding game last year... 18-0 down and we probably only got back into it on the back of Souths resting on their heels.

I expect the occasion will lift us, we'll run with them for 70 minutes then the class of Souths/some GI brilliance should get them home. Maybe a Reynolds field goal separates them after 80 minutes.

I'm expecting a ripper of a game and a debut to write home about for Milford. On a big night, who knows?

The boys have a tough season start Rabbitohs (H), Sharks (A), Cowboys (H), Warriors (A).

Guys not sure of this is the right place for it, but I have 2 x gold tickets for the game Thursday if anyone wants them. I'm from Sydney and was going to fly up for the game but can't make it due to work now.

Just want to get rid of them so they don't go to waste if anyone is interested?
