How can we ignore the fact that Hoffman was moved to wing due to lack of ballplaying ability at fullback and now hes one of our playmakers?

He's picked as safety option because he has FG experience. Griffin thinks that could still work, just like it worked when we picked Glenn, Tunza, Stagg and Gillett there.

There is a bit of a negative to us winning the game. The win could be used to keep this same team together for a few rounds to come. If we lose, you'd definitely expect changes for Round 2.

I don't think that will happen.

Broncos get 48 points put on them, Broncos chalk it up to it just being a trial.

Broncos lose against the Bulldogs, Broncos chalk it up to the team needing time to gel. My guess is, the same side will be picked.

I think we can win. I have some small hope that Hook has a plan. I hope us winning doesn't paper over the cracks of how poor our halves position is.

With all said and done about how atrocious this team is, I'm excited to see how Vidot goes, let's hope he's turned a page and has really worked hard in the off-season (Mainly worried about his defense and work under the high ball)

Hoffman may not be a good 5/8, but if Nikorima is not ready for the NRL, then selecting him before he is ready could destroy the kid. Even if it means Hoffman for the season and a potentially tough season as fans, itbwould be more beneficial to the club long term, to continue to develop him in the u20/Qld Cup.

i just cannot get my head around putting 3 props on the bench and the apparent fact that glenn and gillett MUST START in any side griffen names, ever.

its not necessary to play stupid musical chairs.

mcguire hannant kennedy jwallace. theres your prop rotation. give em 50, 50, 40, and 20 mins respectively

play parker for 80 as the loose forward in the middle

I am disappointed in the pack.
Looks like Barba will be running off Parker and Gillett. First things first though, we have to stop the opposition running over us.
I cannot see how Parker playing prop at the start of a match helps our go forward, if you want him playing prop at some stage make it later in the game, probably second half

I'm willing to give the team a go, for sure. I'm interested to see how the Parker experiment goes and even more keen to see how Maranta goes on the wing.

I just hope we show a heap of character, play as a team and that we look fit.

I'll be really happy if Macca can play 80 minutes too.

How will that happen?
He is not likely to make the halves in U20s, strange but he is more chance of making A grade as a half and that will be shortlived.

From what I've heard, the only thing Vidot has been doing this offseason is tearing it up on the town in the tightest shirts possible for a man that size.

Unfortunately Hook has no idea who is "ready".

He's just firing shots in the dark hoping that one will come off.

Can anyone legimately argue that a bloke who can't pass (see Hodgo's comments) could be our best option in the halves.

Good thing is that Griffin won't be there in a few weeks time and we can start to try to rebuild the club.

Maranta and Mills are interchangeable, but both shit compared to most NRL teams wingers, and ive only seen Nikorima play the 9's tournament so i personally cant claim him to be the talent that he is talked up to be so i'm meh over Hoffman being given the chance over him.

I'm a bit more concerned over the forwards. The Aus lock playing at prop so that Glenn/Gillett/Thaiday all start doesnt sit well with me. Bench one of them!!!

Having said that, we will still win on Fri night!!

Did you watch the warriors game. That's how the Parker experiment will go. Personally I'm calling it the Parker debarcle (and I am not having a go at Corey). We've weakened a position (13) for no reason at all.

Maranta on the wing? Did you watch last year? Terrible. Only at the Broncos because of his surname.

This team proves that we learnt nothing from last year at all.
