Yeah I agree. Love what he is doing off the bench. Very much an impact player that seems very at home in the NRL.I want to see more Semu .
Last week the bench got juggled with the backs coming off . Semu and P Riki are bigger bodies I have hopes they can turn the tide if Talty and Gos can keep the Sea Eagles with in striking distance .
Because I do expect them to try to attack the middles after watching bigger bodies against the Broncs 3rd string props .
Thanks for the heads up @SantaYou see who the ref is?
Actually, maybe you shouldn't look...
Have we played in anyone's half this year? It was a pretty rare thing last year too from memory. I can't remember the last time we actually won the ruck except for when we're in 'comeback mode'.We rrally need to play this game in Manly’s half.
Yea all true - and I don't mind it (we won a premiership that way), its just that with so many players out (especially on our edges), im not sure we'll be able to defend that style of play against Manly.Have we played in anyone's half this year? Madge’s genius strategy to improve our discipline. Can’t drop the ball if you don’t have itWe're averaging 46.3% possession over 9 games. I don't think I've ever seen a team with such a low percentage this far into a season.
Combination of ruck infringement calls, backs not making enough metres, slow linespeed and early tackle plays.
Testament to our goal line defence and attack's efficiency that we're 5-4
just like they've tried to do every game since 1988.
Yes?Oh FFS .....
It is honestly such a simplified structure, that Madge has proven works. We're averaging 46.3% possession over 9 games. I don't think I've ever seen a team with such a low percentage this far into a season.

I thought the early kicking helped our resurgence, getting their big boys more tired.Yeah I agree. Love what he is doing off the bench. Very much an impact player that seems very at home in the NRL.
But as you said, our rotation got fked over by the injuries last game, Madge had to pull the pin early on Semu to get X back out there. Semu and PRiki will be huge for us if Talty and JGos are getting pumped.
They will definitely go through the middle as you said, their pack isn't as big as Roosters at least, but I also can't see us playing worse than last week, since we are field the same forwards.
Manly do ruck infringe a fair amount, and they rely on kick metres more than their run metres. So pressure on Fogarty and Brooks will help. Running at the halves worked against Roosters in the second half. If we are getting pumped through the middle, we will have to do the same tactic.
And, I have a feeling Walshy will be unlocked for the full game in attack due to Duffy playing, and we definitely won't struggle with kick metres. Walshy's + Duffy's boots are HUGE.
Once thing that Walshy can't do this game: no more kicking on the 3rd or 4th in consecutive attacking sets, especially when we are stuck down our own end.
Last game, that hurt us, we could have used those extra tackles in attack to just gain 20seconds of rest. Instead, it was a negative return considering the Roosters would cover the 20 metres difference of the early kick in 1 tackle.
Ben Hunt said:
“’Madge’ (Maguire) has thrown me in the squad,” Hunt told 4BC radio.
“I was told we didn’t have enough players, because we need to name 22 players, so he threw me in there.
“I definitely won’t be going too soon. I have a fitness test today to get through some wrestle and contact and a few drills and if I pass that, then I will be right to play.
“I would say it’s an outside shot but we will see how we go.”
