POST GAME Round 10 - Sea Eagles vs Broncos

Factoring in results going certain ways, this comp is hurtling towards a three way lead. Assuming the Sharks beat Cows, we smash Wests and the Storm lose again to Souffs:

1. Sharks - 16 cp
2. Storm - 16 cp
3. Broncos - 16cp

And **** all F/A difference
Hell yeah..

And geez those Sharks are still going alright considering the personel they lost.

RE: Fai.

This game doesn't count as his debut since he didn't make it onto the field.

I'm sure he's in good company, especially when teams used 'reserves' and not 'interchanges'. However, I can't remember the last player to be denied their debut while on the bench.

That would be a good piece of trivia for somebody.

Doing well away, but at home they have only won one game out of 4 and that was against newcastle.

I thought we were awful. Two tries that basically won us the game came directly from errors. Our attack was hopeless. Was a painful watch to be honest.

We were awful in the 1st half but I thought we lifted enormously in the 2nd. So many many tries in the game come from errors, often forced by good attacking play. Also, one of Manly's tries ought to be taken off them and the refs sacked for that forward pass. Yes, the 1st half was painful to watch, but not the 2nd. Milford, Knik, Thaiday, Sims, well, the whole team really lifted and forced Manly out of the game. The only thing I would change is Blair to lock.

This was a good win.

Watching live, I had no idea how we won this. Insipid in the first half, but managed to work our way back into it off the back of errors. Guess you make your own luck?

That is why it's important when your behind by a decent margin to get back to basics, work your way into the game instead of trying to play catch up panic football, opportunities will come from it like those errors, do what you can to force the opposition to make the mistakes, don't make it easy for them by trying to make those low percentage passes etc.

Considering the Sea Eagles three tries came all off errors, two of ours and one of the refs. Sometimes it's all about taking those opportunities when they present themselves.

DCE can go **** himself. He is now firmly in the same class as Gallen. Diving fairy.

True enough. Not feeling great about scraping wins off the back of poor refereeing.

Hardly a win to feel pumped about but we'll take the 2 and move on.

3) WAYNE Bennett opted out of playing bench forward George Fai last night, instead going for experience to help Brisbane get the win.
The Souths Logan product stayed on the bench for the entire match as Bennett rotated through his other forwards.
Bennett revealed afterwards he intended to play Fai, but when Brisbane had to fight back from 14-0 down, he thought it wasn’t the right time to give the young gun his debut.

On a scale of 1 to 10 for forward passing - with 1 being a slightly forward inside pass, and, 10 being a Tom Brady hail mary --- how forward was Trbojevic's pass for their third try?

Trent Barrett set the talking point for the Sydney journos saying no one would have complained if the refs had penalised the tackle on Tom T as a dangerous tackle (despite it being completely legal).

Aaron Rodgers in Detroit.

I'm sure Hook would've done it at some stage. Wasn't his debut, but I remember Wallace riding the bench for 3 games straight

While it wasn't the prettiest of wins, we didn't concede a point for 71 minutes. The start was terrible, but "full credit to the boys" for really turning it around.
