Especially when Milf was in Dally M form during 2016... the way he played to start that year was immense, but then he missed out on origin and I think he had a bit of the sulks. I think he then copped a shoulder injury that required surgery?

Coming into 2017 I think he was going well again, but early in the season Bhunt signed with the dragons and I think Wayne made the decision that Milf would be turned into our halfback... he would talk up Niko as the halfback, but I think it was Milf regardless of what jersey he had on.

2017 would end in a shoulder reconstruction from memory, and Milf missed the entire preseason... that was probably a pretty pivotal moment in his career. I think up to that point he was looking every bit a star half that we could build around; however missing the entire preseason when Wayne was planning to play him as our halfback stuffed everything up. We went after Atay and missed out so we were basically left with only Niko to partner him... and I still for the life of me don't know why we went so hard to sign Bird on a long and expensive deal.

2019 rolled around with Seibold missing half the preseason, because of dick swinging contests between all parties. There was discontent across members of the playing group and players being released left right and center; however Milf was at times required to play 3 spine positions at once because we were left with Turpin and Boyd in the halves. I think he was still putting in during that year, but Seibold clearly had no idea what he was doing with the roster and seemingly had no answers to turn them around.

When 2020 rolled around I do think Milf had pretty well packed it in, but it was most likely due to not wanting to play under Seibold... his highlight game was round 2 vs rabbits when he had to carry the team after Croft left the field early.

2021 rolls around and the Kevolution begins... I think Kevvie wanted to desperately use Milf, but I feel as though the wear and tear on his body might've been catching up with him (pretty sure he went 2016, 17 and maybe 18 with shoulder injuries and 2019 Seibold had him playing fullback straight after a hammy injury?? was the Newcastle game in pissing down rain from memory)... I also feel that Kevvie just couldn't get him back to being that free running half... probably because we had no halfback in the team... but also by that point Milf had basically spent a prolonged period from 2017 onwards where he was basically shoehorned into being a halfback and that probably changed his approach to games where he seemed to only stay in a structure... stay on the left edge of the field, get the team to a kick, etc. His running game had basically disappeared.

I went back and watched the extended highlights of the knights game from last year, just to see if he was doing any off the cuff type play whilst the team was playing confidently... and even though Albert was the halfback it looked like Milf was doing the majority of the kicking... and when he did pop up at second receiver he was mostly ball playing rather than having an electric running game.

Now we are in 2022 and he will have Clune there, who should most likely take all those duties off him... but I'll be interested to see style Milf plays with... will he have this muscle memory of trying to be the ball playing halfback or will he be a free running second receiver.
You forgot 2018 - player of the year.

I don't agree. Again, one continued to be terrible and toxic and the other puts it the effort. It's pretty obvious who would have been the better option over the last few years.
The other put in so much effort he had every commentator pleading him to change position or club because of how miserable he looked. That only changed when Hook came in and coincidentally signed players away from the other bloke in this equation and set up a familiar system. Which is something he wouldn't have been afforded at the Broncos since they were 'burning the boats'.

The Broncos signed the right half, his name is Adam Reynolds.

The other won a wooden spoon and sucked the life out of every Bronco fan for years.

Not a single person is arguing against that last line BP, and you know that.

Talk about sucking the life out of Broncos fans for years.

It's hardly been my point at all. My point was always that Milford sucked and someone that put in effort would have been better but instead of arguing the main point a few of you have jumped on this because you can't argue against my actual point. Good work Holdzy.

Point is you're arguing in either or when it's neither and the club has moved on.

As players, Hunt and Milf both ended up sucking and not being good enough but I think there is little doubt that Hunt would have had a better influence on the club purely because of work ethic and professionalism.

Ben Hunt dogged it at the Dragons for long periods of time, often went missing in big matches and continued his sooking ways from his Broncos days. Was he better than Milford over the years? Probably, but not by as much as you think and not as consistently as you think.

How often do you need to spout 'we kept the wrong half?'

The hypothetical in that scenario is whether he could recover mentally from the GF. His diminishing ability to win big games for us or consistently manage games indicated probably not. Why do you think Hunt's good form has been standing out at the Dragons? Because it's been coming and going since he left Brisbane.

**** off

This was not about Hunt VS Milford but lack of effort VS effort and wanting to actually become a better footballer and who would have left less of a toxic imprint on the club. @holdzy chose the easiest part of my argument to discuss, completely looking away from the actual point. It was weak of you to jump on it and I'm not discussing Hunt VS Milford again.

Not about Hunt vs Milford? You ended your little tirade with 'we kept the wrong half'. You could have mentioned anyone other than Hunt but that's always been your thing, Milf vs Hunt. I hope you do drop it.

Anyway, regarding the toxic imprint left on the club, MIlf vs Hunt is irrelevant compared to Boyd.

This debate has been done to death.

There are many, many factors that contributed to the decline of both players. It happened, it's done. I think it's time to move on.

Gee everyone seems this will be a walk in the park.
Exactly what I fear this team will also think. If so, it’ll be a step backwards.
No doubt we should and can win but, we will need the right attitude and actually turn up.
The Knights will Be up for this one, no doubt.

Imagine being fans of other clubs and never worrying about what Anthony Milford will bring this week and now look at all of you who are worried about what Milford will bring this week. He really did a number on this club and it's supporters.
