Round 11 Discussion

@Morkel looks like it's a real possibility no one gets points out of this game, so it's next best thing to mass suspensions. No one gets points.

And Jesus said, "**** both teams. Especially Melbourne. But, especially Manly".

I am loving this. Biggest cluster **** of a game I have ever seen, multiple binnings, Melbourne lost, and Dylan Walker got punched in the face.

Don't care that I tipped wrong. This is glorious.

Going by the live feed of the press conferences, the reporters are talking with each other while waiting for Bellamy and Slater and it sounds like the headlines will be about Manly facing the possibility of being docked points.

Who did Koroisau punch? Was it Curtis Scott? He's deserved a punch in the head for a long time. Would have been even nicer if Vunivalu's head was right behind Scott's and this happened...

By the letter of the law, the fact that Manly didn't have an official timekeeper means that the Storm timekeeper was the only one with authorisation to allow them back on the field.

If he did, the error is with the Storm, and their protest may end up hurting themselves more than Manly, if he didn't say they could go back on and they went back on at their own accord, or off the word of a non-registered Manly official, Manly will lose the 2 points.

Manly have to be docked points now.
They can't be docked, they did nothing wrong by the rules.

It's been clarified, it's up to the home team to have their own time keeper, the away team doesn't need to, and the home team can dispute the NRL time keeper, which they did, but the NRL guys didn't listen, so still entirely the NRL's **** up.

That's not right.

There's both an NRL time keeper, and a time keeper for the home team. The NRL time keeper gave them the go ahead to return to play, the Storm time keeper protested it, the NRL guy didn't listen. So... The only party at fault here is the NRL.

That's not even close to what the NRL said, so somebody is lying.

Apparently Manly would have had their own timekeeper as well.

They would have told Api Koroisau that time is almost up and to start coming back to the sideline. So Manly would have known they were about to have two players go back on the field illegally when the NRL timekeeper on the sideline gave them the green light.

And they did nothing. They exploited it to gain an advantage and it's about time clubs are punished for shit like that.

That is why they should lose points.

normally it would be an easy call to assume it is the NRL lying ... but the Storm's track record with honesty isn't crash hot so ...

Manly didn't have a timekeeper. If the away side doesn't have a timekeeper the home team's timekeeper is supposed to monitor it.

But they were not until Koroisau ran back onto the field.

Was a bit of a disaster. The NRL really should be running it. In any event, the Storm got flogged and deserved to lose.

Yep, that's what the exact rule is as I read it.

Only the home team is obliged to have a time keeper, and apparently Manly didn't, since it's optional and supposedly it's common practice for the away team to not have one.
