No hodges, Thaiday, Parker, Gillett and maybe even McGuire.

Who are the tigers going to be missing..? Farah and perhaps Richards..?

Going to be a very interesting line-up.

Let's assume that Lowrie is out injured and that Hodges, Thaiday, Parker, Gillett & McGuire will be selected for Origin that leaves us with a side of...

1. Ben Barba
2. Daniel Vidot
3. Jack Reed
4. Dale Copley
5. Lachlan Maranta
6. Josh Hoffman
7. Ben Hunt
8. Ben Hannant
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Jarrod Wallace
11. Alex Glenn (c)
12. Corey Oates
13. David Stagg

14. David Hala
15. ???
16. Jake Granville
17. ???

Ideally, one of those spots would be filled by a backrow, the other by a prop but who should come in?

I reckon Aaron Woods is a good chance of playing NSW, more so than Richards.

You would think Woods and Farah are a lock for the Blues. I doubt they'll pick Richards, though I don't think he's that far off given their options (an injury or two could potentially open the way).

BP, I'd expect Lowrie and Kennedy to fil the two spots in your lineup. That said, I wouldn't be adverse to Molo or Ofahengaue getting a run, as per Chris Garry's suggestion today, particularly if Kennedy doesn't pull his finger out for Ispwich.... Maybe risky to carry both, so maybe just one of the young guns?

I think we can get the win. I know everyone is likely to be kicking cans after tonight, but without Farah they lose a lot of leadership and one of their principal playmakers, and Woods is their heartiest forward.

Kennedy will have to come back. Assuming lowrie is fit as well if go with
barba
vidot
reed
copley
maranta
hoffman (it isn't going to change so I might as well just pick him)
hunt
hannant
macca
wallace
glenn
oates
lowrie

hala
kennedy
stagg
granville

Locky reported that Lowrie had suffered a pec injury in making that big hit on Douglas.

Will get a final word on that, but you'd imagine it would have to be a week.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Kennedy back. I just wonder if he deserves to return and whether the Broncos would want to carry a second row.

mcguire wont play origin.

my team:

1 barba
2 vidot
3 reed
4 hoffman
5 copley
6 duncan/strasser/anyone
7 hunt
8 mcguire
9 macca
10 hannant
11 glenn
12 oates
13 lowrie

14 wallace
15 hala
16 molo/ofahengaue/a big body youngster
17 granville

unfortunately griffin will stick with hoffman at 6 and stagg, and kennedy will return to the team. will mean maranta will play wing (im not against maranta)

edit: if lowrie is out then i can handle stagg. start wallace with mcguire playing 70 at lock.

WITHOUT HODGES we will need some sort of HALF to help hunt. otherwise we wil just run into the ground and beat ourselves.

1. Barba

3. Reed
4. Copley
5. Drew
6. Hoffman
7. Hunt
8. Hannant
9. McCullough (c)
10. Wallace
11. Vidot
12. Oates
13. Glenn

14. Granville
15. Hala
16. Kennedy
17. Molo/Ofag

Stagg would be maybe if Kennedy doesn't turn up for Ipswich.
Kahu is probably a chance of coming back in the centres as well and Copley would stay on the wing.

Actually, I like some of your thinking here. Vidot to the back row is a good option.

Assuming Origin duties (but McGuire isn't picked) Lowrie out with that pec injury and Kahu still a few weeks off (seems to be the current consensus), how about:

1. Barba
2. Oates
3. Reed
4. Copley
5. Maranta
6. Hoffman
7. Hunt
8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Hannant
11. Glenn (c)
12. Vidot
13. Stagg

14. Granville
15. J.Wallace
16. Kennedy/Hala
17. Molo (Or Ofahengaue, etc)

We keep Oates outside of Reed (as per end of last year), and Maranta outside of Copley (believe this was the case early this year). Glenn stays left edge, Vidot gives us some grunt in the back row, Stagg for some defensive starch in the middle at #13.

A bit skeptical about that bench, but not sure what else we could field? I feel Granville is worth a shot, and Wallace needs more game time to kick on. Hala/Kennedy are hardly reliable, but at least have first grade experience. Think it's too risky to bring in two, but I'd like to blood at least one of the young forwards.

When questioned about Hoffman on his live blog, Chris Garry said something along the lines off Hoffman is all we have at 5/8 and that none of Nikorima, Paua'Aua, Taylor etc are ready for the NRL yet

1. Barba
2. Vidot
3. Reed
4. Hoffman
5. Copley
6. Nicholls (I wanted to be the first)
7. Hunt
8. McGuire (He won't be selected for QLD)
9. McCullough
10. Hannant
11. Glenn
12. Oates
13. Lowrie

14. Granville
15. Kennedy
16. Stagg
17. Wallace

Hodges, Gillett, Thaiday, Parker all not available -

1. Barba
2. Vidot
3. Reed
4. Copley
5. Maranta
6. Hoffman
7. Hunt

10. Hannant

12. Oates
13. McGuire

14. Granville
15. Lowrie
16. Hala
17. Wallace

Why is everyone so sure McGuire wont play for Qld. There are a few injuries or under done players in the Qld forwards Atm.

Read in the newspaper this (or rather yesterday) morning that McGuire needed a good game to be selected for QLD.

Well, he was our best forward.

Drew won't play, he's out injured at the moment.

I'd go with this assuming we're missing: Thaiday, Lowrie, Gillett, Parker, Hodges & McGuire.

Green, Dodds and Drew are injured

Hannant only had a minor strain apparently and Oates also deserves to start after his stint tonight.

1. Ben Barba
2. Daniel Vidot
3. Jack Reed
4. Dale Copley
5. Lachlan Maranta
6. Josh Hoffman (unfortunately)
7. Ben Hunt
8. Ben Hannant
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Jarrod Wallace
11. Alex Glenn
12. Corey Oates
13. David Stagg (unfortunately)

14. Jake Granville
15. David Hala
16. Martin Kennedy (unfortunately)
17. Expect a debutant if the above mentioned are unavailable. I want Molo, but I expect to see Joe Ofahengaue because he had the better pre-season.

I can't see how Hodges is playing origin, Thaiday either. Both have fitness issues.
