PRE-GAME Round 12 - Broncos vs Storm

Paix was pretty impressive today as was Niu and Tass.

Apparently Milf was ‘rested’ in anticipation of replacing Gamble next week as he will likely be suspended.
Looks like it. Just spotted this in a piece on Broncos-contracted Ezra Mam, who scored a hat trick on debut for the Magpies:

He better fucking well not be.

I thought Niu was pretty poor.

Let several bombs bounce... even left one for Dearden to take.

Butchered two tries by hogging instead of passing... first was a line break, but he tries to beat the fullback himself instead of passing to a completely unmarked Tass on his outside. Second one he ignores the 3v2 and just cuts back infield to be tackled meekly.

Also whilst he looks very agile he seems to lack any top end speed. There was a play where he was put on the outside of the kick chase only to be caught pretty quickly and having to stop completely and go back infield

He had a nice grubber for a drop out and his long passing does look better than Isaako's though

Can someone please put up an image of Lodge's tackle lastnight that supposedly warrants a game ban, and compare it to Sitili Touponewueaaeuauioaeio's from last weekend that only warranted a fine?

Why is any sort of consistency so fucking hard to ask for?

SoS Milford... the guy only disappears during game time.

I don’t mind Milford being recalled.

Last time he was dropped and recalled, he didn’t play too bad. I would be expecting the same again especially after his chat with Kevvie about how he can save his career at the Broncos.

We only need him for the one game.

But he hasn't gone away and been recalled. He's just had the weekend off to sit around stuffing his face with chiko rolls and golden gaytimes. The last thing we need is this lazy worthless prick having a holiday in the halves against the Storm. They'll rip us to shreds.

Are you calling for Dearden?

Personally I'd go with Asiata in the halves. I reckon we'll need the defence against Melbourne and I don't think he can be worse than Milford in attack anyway.

No way would I pick Milford and if he didn't play in Qcup because they wanted him for next weekend that's even more baffling, because now he hasn't played since he got dropped.

I don't think he deserved to be dropped last round but now that you have, you got to stick with it, best to put a player like Asiata in to not change too much.

Lol they should just promote Marn straight into first grade. Did more in 1 Q cup game than Milf has done all season.

Not really, but if it came to a choice between those two, then yes. Don't have an opinion on Asiata. Haven't really seen enough of him yet, but I agree his defence would have to be better than Milford's.

Least disruptive would be to shift Turpin to halfback and move Hetherington, Luke or Levi to hooker.

Who starts ? I mean who is partnering Haas and is Milford🤮 replacing Gamble? I believe we can cover Lodge, as good as he was but Gamble, what he brings, well...you all know how I feel about Milford (the player). Can Milford deliver? I mean he's going to be absolutely desperate UNLESS someone has guaranteed him a job next year.

I like this. Turps didn't totally disappoint at 7 in the games he had there last year and with Kelly playing the game manager all Turps has to do is what we know he can do - run, pass, kick.

Still gotta play the Storm again, still gotta play Souffs again, still gotta play Panfers again, still gotta play Roosters again.
I think the club should finish with more wins than last year, though I'd argue that the squad is possibly stronger this year if you take all the injuries into consideration.
I love that we have to play tough teams and especially the Panthers. Imagine if we stop their run, beat them soundly. We keep winning, it's as simple as that. It happens because your gorillas overcome theirs. Imagine if we sneak into the eight and we've proven ourselves against the best. We'd have no fear and the best would fear us.

Also, for sheer enjoyment read the live game thread at the Roosters. You will not believe some of the comments and you'll swear some of them are us in our live thread!
