PRE-GAME Round 12 - Broncos vs Storm

If Hughes is out too I'll dare to dream. It's probably hard to get up for a Melbourne game but off the back of beating the Roosters and Storm missing their entire spine there will never be a better statement to make. Storm might be over confident too after thrashing a top rated team and their youngsters might get cocky.
The key is belting Nelson a'soggy arse aroma and Car fusey. Bash the protection and their youngsters will try anything. If we can be controlled and committed it's very doable.

Realistically we have 3 choices to replace Gamble; Milford, Hunt or Dearden.

Croft is injured

I love that we have to play tough teams and especially the Panthers. Imagine if we stop their run, beat them soundly. We keep winning, it's as simple as that. It happens because your gorillas overcome theirs. Imagine if we sneak into the eight and we've proven ourselves against the best. We'd have no fear and the best would fear us.

Also, for sheer enjoyment read the live game thread at the Roosters. You will not believe some of the comments and you'll swear some of them are us in our live thread!
Just read it, carbon copy 😂

Least disruptive would be to shift Turpin to halfback and move Hetherington, Luke or Levi to hooker.
Turpin 7, Paix and Hetherington hooker.

There’s not much Gamble does that Turpin can’t. They both just get by on enthusiasm.

Yes this. Forgot all about Paix. Maybe it's his time to get a run.

At least with Turpin rather than Milford you'd know you didn't just install a stargate direct to your tryline.

If Milford is in the fucking team list this week, I swear.

How could Broncos not spot his genius

It's going to be a loss anyway so might as well make milford take the pain and send him straight back to cup afterwards.

Milf is playing for six hundred grand. Maybe he comes out with some 2015 vintage play, signs a deal mid-week, and then gets dropped back to reggies to never darken our door again.

Broncos by 14.

"Stargate direct to your tryline" :rofl Just about sums it up perfectly.

Turps might be the play here. Its easier to rotate your hookers given the guys available. Paix & Kobe can switch between them at 9.

Just need to be servicable and switched on defensively...

I had another look at this play, actually really like the shapes and decoys we ran..

Haas & Lodge get us the field position and then Lodge with the effort play to straigthen then pass.

Flegs runs a good line, TPJ runs a good line holding up Walker, jamming Rorters in so Kelly can get the early ball to Issako, in-and-away to Copley who draws and passes to Mead.

Class set play.

Lets just run this play against the Storm. Turps doesnt need to be involved, let Kelly set it up.

Hope springs eternal, arguably unless he wins at the judiciary Lodge wont be there. This play highlights some of the small things he is bringing to our attack...

Has Isaako ever done that in and away before? Should be bread and butter stuff for a fullback but I can’t really recall it happening. Looked good

Agree ,this is what we've lacking alright, a good 5/8 running game, not scared to take the ball to the line, with options to spread the ball. I thought Kelly did an exceptional job for us in this game , his experience showed in defense also . This is why Milford must be not be recalled . I even loved Kelly's simple one two with TPJ , showed Kelly 's experience again in attack , its about trust and confidence in each other backing up which I think the players also bought into and improved their performance . The above clip is copybook , backline movement.

...The key was Tevitas decoy towards Walker; it brought Manu in from centre then Isaako ran into the gap he left.

Some real skill involved in this play. Good to see...
