Round 12 - Broncos vs. Warriors - Post Match Discussion

Also we shouldn't forget who was missing tonight.

Hannant, Hodges, Gillett, Thaiday, Parker. That's a lot of serious talent.

Even with those, look at the last two seasons and we have dished out more then our share of utter garbage.

Just throw some money around. We are the richest club in the NRL. We should be able to get what we want. I have no idea why they are so conservative with it.

club has decided to skimp on the salary cap and go hog wild on the post season getaways .... New York, London, Vegas, Paris - all magnificent from late August through September

Hooks methods clearly aren't working, one out running, no support play, slow defensive line speed, slow dummy half service, slow play the balls, poor kick chase there is just no urgency in anything the team does.

The team looks like a group of guys who meet once a week to have a bit of a fun runaround out on the field, completely rudderless, they look lost, have no structure or any idea what they are trying to do. There doesn't even appear to be anyone who can play whats in front of them, its all just random hope for the best stuff.

Yes and no.

As I have posted many times, we have scored some of the best tries out there ... inconsistently. That's because the Lockyer void was never filled.

Defensively? Yes, this coach cannot drum into players the basics. As that is all repetition until it is 2nd nature, for a 1st grade coach, that is a big problem.

What worries me as well is that I am getting the impression that many players have given up focus and concentration. That is fatal

And to think some people don't rate Locke or mateo lol. "Our second rowers are a class above mateo" they say lol. Mateo got 3 try assists, 3 linebreak assists, 4 offloads, and Locke with a staggering 5 line breaks, 2 line break assists, 3 try assists, and a try.

Absolutely terrible performance from the broncos. Wallace is much faster at passing than McCullough, but just as useless at every other part of his game. McCullough in the second row, lol. Gee, noone could've predicted that joke was gonna happen.

Hoffman was excellent yet again, kahu was nowhere to be seen, Glenn took a page out of thaidays captains manual that just says "go missing", McGuire did little with ball in hand and then was taken off for the last 20 for some reason. Last time I checked we were lacking good forwards, so we take off our one good 80 minute forward. Fantastic.

Thats the season IMO. Won't be making the 8. Start planning for next year, so hopefully that entails a mass clean out of both the administration and the player ranks. We'll win the spoon before putting up a premiership winning capable season with this lot.

I did enjoy packer pissing his pants on national tv though lol. Topped it off with a good shake too, didn't wanna leave any for the post urinal dribble. Sucks to be the first guy to tackle him.

Well that was fucking embarrassing, I expect major axings very soon, the entire coaching staff, Ben Hunt (Sorry kid, we gave you numerous chances), Alex Glenn (Hasn't had a good game this year, a mere impersonation of the Alex Glenn from 2011), I also hope to never see the likes of Anderson, Slyney, Dodds near the team again.

People who played semi-decent tonight: McGuire, Prince, Hoffman, Reed, Kahu, Hala, Wallace - The rest can all be axed for all I care.

We might actually be a possible contender for the wooden spoon this year, we're running 11th at the moment and only 2 points ahead of 16th, and I can almost guarantee we won't win another game in the origin period (Raiders away, Tigers home, Warriors away, Storm away, Sharks home)

Was psyched to see Wallace do so well at hooker.......too bad Hunt was awful and therefore the changes probably wont stick.

Hoffmans try was great, he looked so quick.

Reeds rundown and diving tackle effort of some warriors guy who was almost about to score was awesome to see. Great attitude.

Besides all that, shit night.

This 100000%. this pisses me off, we don't spend shit. We obviously aren't spending shit on scouting or coaches, let alone players. I remember an interview a while ago with some high up broncos official, maybe Bruno Cullen and he said that if their was no salary cap then the Australian team would be running out in maroon and gold every week. Well theres no salary cap for coaches, no salary cap for scouting.
