POST GAME [Round 14, 2022] Broncos vs Raiders

Look love that win but **** not a single part of me can celebrate like you blokes. Obviously we probably weren’t going to beat Melbourne or Cows in the origin period but we just got anally fucked by injuries that are gonna hurt us long past those 2 games. Really fucken annoys me and not much to celebrate in my opinion. Gutsy effort but I think it is clear that the team out their in the last 15 minutes would possibly get dicked on by a super league side.
No one is celebrating the injuries, but mere months ago we would have had 5 tries put through us in the last 20 mins with this sort of injury toll.

We have to celebrate how far we’ve come.

It’s not about winning the comp it’s about performing well. No one other than Penrith or Melbourne are winning the comp this year that has been the case for the last 3 seasons. Not the point at all, this team worked their ass off for 7 weeks and really most of that will be negated cause of 6-7 injuries we have picked up in the last 3-4 days. For mine that really hurts when those blokes have done the hard yards and put in for us fans who have been deprived for a couple years. They deserve to be winning. Sadly for them they are going to go out their next week get wiped by Melbourne and all the ignorant fans in this competition are gonna shout from every inch of the globe how we are pretenders and shit house. For mine it was imperative we compete with the Storm and cowboys in the next 2 rounds regardless of how long shot winning was. They worked those 7 games to win to be held in the same breath as Melbourne and the Cows, sadly they don’t get to prove that. Has nothing to do with winning a comp or not it has to do with the fact that those boys lost a **** ton more than what they gained out of 2 points

Herbie just lost his World Cup spot, probably his fullback aspirations, his form

Haas is likely going to miss Origin 2.

Ezra is absolutely fucked at developing now.

The whole lot of them just lost the positives of the form they worked so hard for.

We lost a lot more than we won this round and as such I find it very hard to put a smile on my face. Got nothing to do with winning a premiership.

If you are thinking about this season, yeah sure, it's all fucked and if you look over the hills you will see that it's armageddon.

However, I guarantee you the playing group feels as bonded as ever after such a resilient, against all odds, kind of win. That stuff sets you up in the long-term. Which has always been the plan. If they wanted a quick hit premiership, they're definitely going about it the wrong way. Kevvie wants to bring back the culture of the club and that's exactly what tonight was all about.

It's not the premier league, all that matters is we are there at the end, it isn't ideal but who is to say other teams don't get injuries either, a bit of perspective goes along way when you remember where we where a few months ago, who even thought we where even in the conversation?

unfortunately, I expect us to lose 4th place this week after the Eels put on a cricket score against the Bulldogs on Monday

Agree with most on here, that’s the type of shit you build team character around, the type of adversity that makes you look at the guy beside you and go “yeah you got me covered” the type of shit us infantry do intentionally to build resilience, character and trust.

fuxk I hope gamble can play next week though…lol

Great game. The injuries are terrible but long term the victory will outweigh them from a culture perspective.

Thee next 2 games were always going to be tough but the boys will take a lot of confidence from this victory, especially with many of our other wins having big names out too.

The club needs to start picking out the piece of land we’re building the Carrigan statue on.

Compare the Riki sinbin for a late shot causing whiplash to what Reynolds copped tonight and you'll see why fans are disappearing from this sport.

We didn't even get a penalty, let alone a sin bin. Our player went off injured.

Thats not just a small inconsistency..

IIRC, Riki also got suspended for that shot

Are we really surprised though? I wouldn't trust the NRL to tie their own shoelaces. They are damn lucky that they do continue to get the ratings that they do, because the AFL have them well covered at an administration level.

for those playing along at home here is the Mam pun the courier mail (Meyn) went with:
The Broncos have found the Mam to wear the club’s No. 6 jersey for years to come.
