A convincing win against the Sharks, particularly short a couple of Origin players, should be enough to seal us as genuine Top 4 contenders. The Sharks are probably the team we need to knock out of the four. The Panthers, Storm and Rabbitohs are a bit more feisty.

Not sure what a loss would say.

A loss says nothing. We are the team more affected by origin. If we win I will be so impressed

100% agree.
He's played his minutes off the bench aswell, which for a backrower new into grade would be a difficult task I'd imagine.
Your coming on the field against a team that's already got their rhythm with a half looking to exploit you at every opportunity and the game is alot faster than your used too defending next to new team mates. Your not going to be perfect and you'll get caught out.
It took Riki time to find his feet Piakura will be the same.

I think he's not suited to the bench at all. I said last week again, and Saturday night didn't really change my mind that until we see him start on the left with a full game we can't solve too much.

I thought his defence was ok against the Warriors, but his running never found any rhythm. He made some nice low tackles that chopped the Warriors from getting momentum.

His effort this year has been great, so that tells me he hasn't given up and he's trying to improve.

I wish an opportunity would present itself where he could start and go for 80 minutes on the left.

I acknowledge that you've seen more of Brenden play than most and for that reason alone I tend to lean towards the narrative that he's progressing well (despite all the injuries and covid related stoppages) and is well worth sticking with. However, in my after match sum up I deliberately missed out talking about his putrid goal line defence that led to a try because I'm here to support the team. I just hope that sort of basic shit is also part of 'teething' problems that will also be ironed out as that sort of poor effort was not even Q cup standard.

No doubt he has that in him, and I thought he was moving past it, he hasn't done it for Norths this year.

He is frustrating because you are watching him and think great effort, good chase, great tackles great we are improving and getting it- then he misses a bad tackle.

I'm sure it's just a mental thing where he he loses focus for a second. Perhaps a positive to come out of that is it was seen by all and sundry and therefore might spur him on to working harder in that area. The coaching staff at least have a prime example to show him and to work with. So long as they don't use it too much as it could also damage his confidence.

I'd be hoping he finishes this season with a solid showing in Q cup and then sets himself to push Capewell out of his spot for next season.

I'll be at the game. First game I've actually attended in person in several years and I'm VERY worried about the refereeing.

Not worried that he will have another poor game and screw us in the process... just worried that I might feel the uncontrollable urge to run onto the field and belt him when he does.

Haas didnt look right after his first hitup I thought

Well unfortunately we lose Flegs purely so the officials can save face for their own stupidity. Cobbs gone with injury and I'd rest both Patty and Walsh too. This is what I would run out:

1. Sailor
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Farnworth
5. Mariner
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Walters
10. Palasia
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Hetherington

14. Paix
15. Taupau
16. Jensen
17. Piakura

It was a head clash, shouldn't have even been a penalty.

I reckon Flegs and Payne will be good to go.

Flegs will be fine, Queensland won so they can just let him off and hope everyone forgets about it.
