PRE-GAME [Round 14, 2024] Broncos vs Sharks

Passed his HIA though? So could still be a chance.
Ye that's what I'm wondering. Is still under automatic stand down but I think if he passes some other tests during the week he can play. Walters will likely be conservative though...

No because he was automatically classed as a Category 1 which is 11 Day stand down. NRL Physio clarified on Twitter

You can apply for an exemption from the NRL. if the player passes the tests during the week he can play. The Roosters successfully got Walker cleared earlier in the year to return a day or so early after a Cat 1 HIA

we won't risk Walsh on Saturday, but may try to get him back for the game after

- Update from the OLD head doctor on Twitter in regards to Walsh.

No, the Roosters doctor didn’t think it was a Cat 1 so Sam was assessed by two independent doctors and they agreed it was Cat 2. So he didn’t have to sit out 11 days.

Bunker makes a Cat call based on video evidence he never examines the player.

The first question is shows no Cat one symptoms. Walsh did.

Thats true but if he passes certain tests throughout the week he can play.
I hope that broncos don't bother contesting the Cat 1 and just keep him on the sidelines for 2 weeks... it could mean he doesn't play Origin 2.

Billy doesn't necessarily have to risk playing Walsh after not playing for two weeks given we're 1-up and Game 3 is at Suncorp... would mean he's available for Rd 17 in NZ as well

Kevvie can use it as an opportunity to highlight that a cheap high shot has ruled out a star player like Reece for 2 weeks.

I feel like Reece missing games is the only thing that could actually get the media active... he's a ratings drawcard and he could be sitting on the sidelines for two games because of a late cheap shot with intent to take him out of the game

Returning to your baseline is one question.

Has he had concussions in the last three months

Did he show Cat one signs on the field- yes

Was there any symptoms the next day- ?

Has the player had fewer than five previous concussions-?

No previous prolonged concussion recovery-

Ahhh ok... so they're playing the long game and putting cheap shots on Walsh so he ends up with a history of concussions... early retirement incoming... that'll be good for the game

What?

Part of the whole concussion test appears to be around previous history of concussions (below)

Walsh is classed as a generational talent.... keep hitting him high and concussing him ... he'll retire early (like Keary and possibly Ponga)... until then just keep hitting him high and HIA's will rule him out anyway (current Ponga and Keary)... you won't get suspended that much anyway (JWH, NAS, Suaalii, Taylan May, etc.... basically every NRL player) so what does it matter in the short term

Precisely. Panthers had a deliberate tactic against him in the first contest against them this year. Shocking to see a Panthers stacked side do it again in Origin, truly shocking. /s

Need to start calling this shit for what it is. Deliberate game plans to jam in and injure players on wrap plays. If it goes wrong it should be an instant send off and minimum 6-8 weeks on the sidelines. Only way to deal with it.

But Ivan will throw a schoolgirl-like tantrum in the press conference if they eliminate grubby tactics that have resulted in players copping serious injuries :(

Like when he was taken out by that disgusting, woman bashing gronk, Taylan May?

I’m expecting an impassioned plea on 360 to free Suaalii because Oinkle Noick has had soime roil doifficoilt toimes loitely
