POST GAME Round 14 - Broncos vs Rabbitohs

The funny part is that I view Oates as an almost identical player to Moga right now, albeit a better finisher. Neither of them can pass to save their lives, they're both at their best when they're just pinning their ears back and running it straight, I'd be very interested in how we'd go if we switched things up and moved Jimmy to the left and Moga to the right.

It's an issue having 2 big lumbering outside backs on the same side, but if you have one on either side of the field it'd probably function much better.

Size with regards to centres doesn't really effect ones ability to offload, look at Hodges, Miles and Meninga for example. For me it's either he lacks vision to utilise his outside man or he needs to really work on it. You can excuse Oates somewhat for it because a Winger is primarily a finisher, his inside man on the other hand needs to be able to do so.

They were rotating the shit out of his arm on the field after he went down. Surely if it was bad they wouldn't touch it.

Might have popped out and straight back in on the ground. Sometimes when that happens it can actually pinch nerves and ligaments between the ball and socket. If they knew it was back in, they were probably checking for that. The fact that he didn't faint in pain says it was all sweet and the sling was precautionary. Still will need some time off to mend, shit gets stretched and it will swell up pretty good.

A bittersweet victory for the Broncos. I thought Anthony Milford had some brilliant involvements in the clash and was really coming into his own before the injury. Footy can be a cruel game and the Broncos are really going to miss him.

Souths were well on top of the Broncos physically through out the majority of the contest but their execution of basic set-plays let them down time and time again. In the end, it took a determined run by Sam Burgess at the two weakest defenders and a pin-point kick from Reynolds for them to breach the line. If they could make use of their advantage in the ruck, they would be such a good side but their execution and telegraphed set-plays let them down time and time again.

Meanwhile the Broncos did really well to recover from an awful start. That dropped ball by Kodi Nikorima could have been costly but to the credit of the Broncos defence, they absorbed a lot of strong charges by the big South Sydney defence and were able to force turn-overs.

It was really good stuff from the forward pack.

Another player I want to give a rap to is Jordan Kahu. Even though he just about gave me a heart-attack with that restart, I thought his defence was great on the night and his ability to finish off the Milford kick was vital. I thought the back three played very well for the Broncos and made a big difference in the game.

Good, tough win. Let's just hope the Broncos can get over the loss of Anthony Milford and jag some wins together against Canberra, Newcastle and Canterbury.

It's been nothing but tough grinding wins and losses this season. Hopefully it'll have us battle hardened for the end of season.

I thought the use of Kodi and Benji was very smart. Kodi provided early with slick passing and Benji came on for the possiable 1 pointer and to add that bit of class. All our halfs looked good tonight. Actually our attack was pretty slick and expansive tonight, loved the second phase. The refs kept the Tohs in it but **** em we made it happen. I am hoping we hear good news for Milf as that could be disastrous to our season , hopefully just a hyper extension, rotator cuff strain. If it was a full dislocation could be 8 weeks or more.

I didn't read the live thread as I sometimes think there are some on here that expect perfection and get overly negative about our play and it just ruins the game for me. I actually thought we played pretty well. I loved the fact we played more expansive, entertaining brand of football with the halves popping up all over the place.

The offloads were there, guys were pushing up to support, we went wide when needed to and our forwards looked to link up way more than previous weeks. I thought Souths played pretty well too and came at us for big parts of that game. Defence was good apart from those couple of tries we gifted them for not going up for the ball.

I'm pretty happy with our effort tonight.

Without wanting to put the fear of god in anyone, the Titans have lost 2 players for the season with extremely similar looking shoulder injuries this season, Sarginson & Grevsmuhl.

Let's pray that it's only minor.

Bunnies showed up for 80mins. Credit to them.

Great kicking game from Reynolds. Come finals time Cronk, Maloney, JT will be looking to do the same.

But boys got the job done, and that's the main thing.

If we cover their kicks, and have a fair go on the refs - then we win that game very easily.

Plenty to work on, but some good positives there - Gillett, Thaiday. Second phase off the forwards, particularly Blair.

Sarginson did that shoulder a few times and Grevsmuhl as well I think

If he can fix up a couple of little things in his game like knowing when to pass, his defence and just realising he is a fucking giant, he will be a very good center.

Exactly, and this is for mine a clear coaching issue. He needs to be shown how to understand his "working relationship" with Oates, positioning, and always looking inside and outside ready/when to offload.

Not from what I know of, and either way it's not really that relevant, the point is that it all depends on how much structural damage there is on top of the dislocation, it's one of those injuries that can be anywhere from 2 weeks on the sidelines to the entire season.
