Round 14 - Broncos vs Raiders - Post Match Discussion

I have praised. It was brilliant what they did. But it was a complete let down when in 9 minutes, they let the worst team in the comp do that.

Anyway. I'm done arguing the point.

No one wants to tell me why we were going to lose no matter what, it seems to just be an excuse to make a horrible result look a bit better.

Hey Nashy,

I did not mean to imply that you didn't praise. All I did was respond to your post about what you hope the coaching staff do or don't do. I posted what I thought they would or at least my hopes. My comments about what I hope the coaches do has nothing to do with your actions icon_thumbs_u

I know a lot of people are antagonistic on here so it might be easy to assume the wrong thing, but I am in no way trying to say anything bad about you icon_smile

I didn't for a second think you were. icon_thumbs_u

I'm not baiting. I do think the team played well for the better part of the game. For a young team, what they pulled off was brilliant.

However. They were playing a team where I would expect nothing less.

Then they let in 24 points in 9 minutes. That's not acceptable.
I agree with that Nashy, but you cannot ignore the circumstances in which it happened. Those are valid reasons and need to be taken into account, but I don't think anyone said the coaches should brush those 15 minutes aside. Of coursde they need to be addressed, so we can prevent another meltdown in adverse conditions.

Btw, the Raiders were favourites (including by the bookies) because they could field an almost complete team (albeit without Campese and Dugan), against a Broncos side missing 12 players, of which 8 would normally be starters!

NRL Stats shows that Brisbane were favs.

I'm bored with arguing. I've put my opinion forward.

Thanks Nashy - just making sure icon_thumbs_u

Unitab had the raiders and broncos even on $1.90 each

Yup, that's what it was on sportingbet too.

The Raiders have a big pack with experience, and enough strikepower out wide to score points. Broncos had an inexperienced pack, inexperienced backline, and just about a first grade starting side missing, and had lost 3 of their last 4 games.

I'd hardly say we were favourites. A good chance of winning, but not favourites.

That we led 24-0 was remarkable IMO. yes, that 9 minute period was extremely disappointing, but damn it's hard to stop momentum like that. Especially when you add in a couple of fairly questionable penalties in there.

Saw the replay and the ref (he used to have a beard and i cant remeber his name for the life of me) looked like someone pissed in his cornflakes after the broncos won

What about that knock on by canberra on their own try line. Would've been another set of six and a real breather for our ridiculously tired forwards.
Worst reffing in some time against the Broncos.
Thank God we won!

Brett Suttor is the worst ref in the game. How he still has a job is beyond me. He's fucking terrible.

Brett Suttor it was. Aeetee had sports ears on and all fucking game you could hear Suttor telling Canberra players to get back onside. They made no effort to. He never penalised them. Jason Robinson did.

So he's overtaken Archer as the ref that rapes us, awesome

I think Archer is a bloody good ref. A few weeks ago we had Suttor and Archer together. When Suttor was main ref, I was begging for Archer, and once Archer took over again, the game became decent again.

Suttor is a fucking ****.

I watch him reffing us, and I actually hope a sniper up the back takes the prick out. Drag him off the field, throw the standby ref on, and away we go. [icon_evillaugh

Oh yes I remember that game, fucking c*ck smoker he is. Absolutely roots us every time he referees our game. I also like Archer, he is a quality fair referee.

Suttor dead set looked shattered when we beat Canberra.

Worse thing is that Jason Robinson hurt his ankle during this game. If he'd had to withdraw, someone else would've come on and Suttor would've been the senior ref.

Wasn't it Suttor that touched Parker on the shoulder the other week & Parker told him not to touch him.
