POST GAME [Round 16, 2022] Broncos vs Cowboys

Haas needs a post-origin break and so does Carrigan, we must not break them hitting finals. We are a clearly beaten up team running on fumes a bit, Kevvie needs to be willing to take some short term pain for longer term gain. I wouldn't be against giving Haas a month off after origin and Patty a week or two here and there too. It also allows us to rotate games into Willison/Piakura/Robati as well which we need to start doing.

I would be resting alot of the team for the titans game.

Can’t believe people are bring positive after a 40 point thumping.

We were outplayed and outclassed across the park. We need a 9. Until we get a good one we won’t win against good teams.

no coincidence cowboys are going well now Robson is playing 80 and Granville isn’t an automatic selection.

meh. More mediocrity.

To be able to do that we need the rest of the squad to step up... starting next week.

- We need Reynolds to be absolutely top tier like he was against Manly.
- We need Jensen, Kobe and Flegler (pending origin) to step up with Haas and Carrigan out... we'll also need big minutes out of them and Kennedy and co to come in and do a role over the next month or so
- We need Staggs to get out of his pissy little "woe is me" sulk and realise that his actual job is a 24 game season in the NRL and not a 3 game exhibition for Fitler
- TMM has done his ribs so we need a fullback replacement.. whoever that is (.... it's going to be Niu isn't it) will probably have the job until probably Rd 20. Rd 19 is against Parra away and I'd basically just take a knee for that game pending injuries... give TMM the time off, give Haas the time off, give Patty some breaks wherever, etc.
- We need Paix back... but we cannot rush him back... I'm hoping he's back next week or Rd 18 vs Titans
- We need to utilise our entire squad as much as needed... if you've got a top 30 spot then you're good enough for NRL. Fucking use them... put Mead in a game or why bother having him in the squad

Rd 20 is against Wests... we need to be as healthy as possible for that game and check where we're at for the run home from there.

I'd rest ALL the origin guys.
Even if we lost to the dragons next week??

Choose to rest Patty, Haas, Capewell, Cobbo, and possibly Flegs and Oates (if they get selected)... and on the back of a 3 game losing streak with Parra away the following week

Careful what you wish for there with James but other than that yeah, we have got some good depth in the forwards at least, use them over the next month and then build into finals fresh.

Woah woah woah... let's not lose our heads here man? I'd rather see Mead as a prop before letting this guy back into our jersey. He was diabolically bad.
It's only if it's absolutely necessary... like if we think Haas has actually got a broken leg and we need a middle forward to give us 15mins off the bench... then you consider James for 1 week over Haas with a broken leg

Yes, in my opinion it is a calculated risk. I have had us down to lose these three games ever since we got smashed by origin and injuries. The team will make the finals but how deep we go depends on fitness and freshness.

How badly broken are we talking here? :P

But why would you do that when you still have Kennedy, Willison and even TC waiting in the wings who can all play in the middle and to a far better level than present-day James? I'd prefer to give Bayliss-Brow a shot too.

These three as in Storm, Cows and Drags??

Because compounding that with the chance of losing against Titans and then having to travel to Parra could lead to 5 straight losses

Not stress fractures like Gamble (you take Haas with stress fractures)... I'm talking compound fracture of the femur type broken leg

Haas out there taking a hit up with a zimmer frame or Ryan James... who you got??

I think the way the Titans are going, playing how we did tonight we still beat them. Parra are a danger game but they blow hot and cold, hopefully we get them on a cold day. And yes I meant the Storm, Cows and Dragons. I only include Dragons because of all of our outs and the fact most of their team are ex-Broncs with a point to prove, so you know they will turn up.

You can... as long as the depth is actually used.

TC is already well ahead of James so he's next cab off the rank effectively... I'm talking use of the full depth of the squad.

If you've got a top 30 contract then you can play NRL... if Kevvie and co were never intending on playing them, even if they needed them, then why did you bother signing them in the first place

James was in the squad earlier this year... if he's next cab off the rank then use him instead of running Patty into the ground.

If Willison can get through 40mins of NRL then use him, etc.

Titans were beating us by 20 odd points at Suncorp a couple weeks back... they turn up when they play us.

If we go into it complacent then they can definitely put a score on us.

If the plan is to play Patty and/or Haas, because we need them to get through the game... then I'd go that and just take a knee on the following week vs Parra.

Titans at full strength is a very good chance of winning whereas Parra away at full strength is still probably 50/50 (if we actually turn up down in NSW in winter).

Titans with a weakened team suddenly becomes 50/50... so instead of looking to bank a winnable game and then taking a knee on a 50/50, it ends up creating two 50/50's
