Hoping for the best, expecting another 1 point loss and Brown to have done nothing to coach closing out games this week.

Warriors will be missing Chad and or CHT. am expecting the usual with SOS and Kodi, Kodi to ball hog and decide to change the play and run away from the overlap. Just hoping these 2 can some how get their s... together and if so I have gone Warriors 13+.

Sharks have lost too many quality players vs what we have on paper, yet again, the halves connection is the most critical in any team and this is where the Sharks have us 10 fold. Cant wait for SJ next year.

Still think having the best defensive FB in the world sitting on the wing, instead of Walsh playing where he is most dangerous and that is 5/8th. But not doubting Walsh will join in on any carniage that occurs off the back of our behemouth yet mobile forward pack who played first 2/3 of the season fairly injury prone but still able to chew up 70m at will.

Can Egan create havoc by commiting to the dummy half run and or can he provide his typically reliable yet not always quick service to the half. From there the ball is in our weakest link.

RTS to 1 Walsh to 6, SOS to 7, Kodi benched and Taniela to 9 (but has been dropped via reserves). In fact Taniela to replace Egan at starting and Kodi to reserve grade.

That would make room with the RTS play to where he belongs at FB, for Pompey to play because we are desperately missing quality defensive centres with Aitken out.

If we can hold onto the ball, if the halves can make the right calls and be in the right positions, the centres and wings dont come jumping out of defensive line for the miracle intercept and or make a better impresssion defensively, then Im going the way I said above with the score.

Lodge is going to be great to see how serious he takes this oppurtunity to remain in the NRL and how keyed he is and how intensely he plays, without being a Jazz ;-p

Realistically this is our last chance this year, its must wins from here on in imo, slight chance it will be 11/13 that makes the 8, but unlikely.

Either way if we cannot win from here, we have no chance in the finals anyway, despite how good the majority of the team is.

8 games lost by 6 or less, 3 of those losses via a drop goal and all 3 of those we had a chance to win it first. Im pretty much looking forward to cricket season already. Warriors, more so Brown and his clear lack of systematically coaching what needs doing first has me bugged out and if SK broke some hearts, Im not expecting Brown to improve anything. I do however think next years team has a realistic chance without a coach with so much X factor across the park, from halves to props to centres to a quicker winger. And there will be plenty enough experience in the team.

You hire Nathan Brown, you get Nathan Brown.

The NRL always take the weak, lazy option.
Decisions are too fast, reactive and ill thought out with poor implementation. The NRL go extreme with new changes and then have to backtrack because they impact the outcome so much.

Head highs. 6 again/ faster game. 2018 crackdown. All the same thing - wrecked games by not allowing enough time to adapt which badly affected results.

Spend more time getting the changes planned and sustainable. Work with the teams to implement and they won’t need to backtrack all the time!

My suggestion. Rather than publicly penalising the players in a game which affects the results, do it behind closed doors by fine/ suspending players while they learn to adapt to changes. Get the changes embedding behind the scenes, without wrecking your own product.

Not the easiest thing to do when coaches operate out of self interest.

Yeah this. The Storm would still be trying to unscrew people's heads and dislocate their shoulders to put their opposition off, if it wasn't for the fact that they would have players suspended for doing so.

It was obvious where the pressure came from in order to end the "crackdown" (aka enforcing the rules) a few years ago. Suddenly the more successful and powerful clubs were being held to the same scrutiny as other teams because they removed the discretion from the refereeing. The Roosters had Gus as their mouthpiece and I can only assume the Storm threatened that they'd start playing AFL if they weren't allowed to go back to their cheating ways.

If you let clubs get away with it on the field but penalise them via the chequebook, there wouldn't be a single club that wouldn't just sign a blank cheque.

Don't get me wrong I would have preferred 2 years personally, but what makes you say that? Granted I didn't watch the game because I expected it to be dead boring, but looking at his stats, for a prop/lock that usually plays 40-60 mins, having only 1 ineffective tackle (0 misses) out of 41 in 80 mins out of position at second row doesn't shout twilight years. Proctor's best game barely compares. Probably just Proctors replacement in terms of experience tbh which I'm content with, doubt he's on much.

If you noticed things I can't find in stats, happy to hear them. I've been meaning to watch him but already hit my quota in terms of uninteresting NRL games this weekend.
I was going to write a big reply with a lot of detail but I will just sum it up with this....

He reminds me of Alex Glenn (That's the current one) except a slightly better defender, but that appears to be bcos he's in a far better team. He just got given a 3 year deal......

First game I have seen with Adin....seems to be a touch off the pace?

Lodge only penalised for essentially the same situation that Hetherington was sent off (not sin binned) for only a matter of weeks ago.

Everyone knows the send off was wrong, but it still set the precedent, which has already been disregarded obviously.

**** the NRL is a joke.

The NRL admitted they were wrong but still said it should have been a sin-bin.

The crackdown only lasted two weeks. There were a couple who missed the memo but it seems like it's reverted to the previous interpretation.

Rough 15 minutes for Wonderkid Walsh.

I've watched 3 of Walsh's last games and I seriously reckon he is among the most over rated rookies in the history of the nrl. He is PERSONALLY responsible for 3-4 tries a game, and that's go the opposition. He makes errors at bad times, he always goes for the big play, his defence is terrible. He needs a year ikn reserve grade 100%, all these things would be fixable there but now he is so impatient and arrogañt and brown wants to help the pressure on h iim they won't be fixed. He will have so much pressure on him and he will always look for the big play. He will come out and win plenty of games for the warriors, maybe even this game, but he will never be the player he could have been if he was just a little more patient. Willing to take bets on this matter...

NRL taking the piss there... absolute professional foul and should've been binned

He has these rough 15 minute EVERY SINGLE GAME. A year in reserve grade would have fixed it but now teams are seeing where and how to target him with shit loads of pressure on him. Brown will ruin his career

So far in this game Lodge and SOS should've been binned for high shots.

SOS gets Katoa straight across the chin with his forearm ... and was definitely 'forceful'

Ref at the moment is absolutely 'managing' this game so the warriors dont get blown out

But that doesn’t suit the media agenda. We are the big bad Broncos who dared to try and develop him in QCup when clearly he is a superstar already. If the situation was reversed and he was a warriors junior that we bought a played straight away we would be hounded by the same people for destroying him by playing him too soon and they would be calling for rules to stop us from doing it.

Hannay is on my shit list for benching Nikora

much of BHQ agreed with the media on that one ... probably still do

I knew the Warriors were going to struggle when they were only up by 6 despite a 10/10 completion rate and the Sharks being 4/6.
