[Round 18, 2021] Broncos vs Tigers

If we can hold it right there.

Niu's defensive efforts were a bit concerning. No urgency to help stop Laurie on his way to the try line. Then with Nofoaluma's trying, he actually stopped and watched for a couple of seconds before running over and making a fool of himself with the missed kick

Didn't take you long did it.. But..but I don't have a problem with Kevvie.
To predictable, maybe you should just stop watching and take up knitting.
I don’t have a problem with Kev as a person. I have a problem with the fact that the worst team in the comp other than use and the dogs just put 42 points on us.

Our left side defence hasn’t improved at all since last season, and nothing was done during a very winnable game to stem that flow of points. I have a problem with that.

Get a new spine and every one else will improve/click. We got the halves sorted next year with AR and Staggs. Just need a new 9 and 1.
Tap Croft, Niu, Isaako, Turpin on the shoulder and tell em to look for greener pastures.

It was one of those games that could have been anything and in the end it resulted in an embarrassing loss for the Broncos.

It was very reminiscent of the Dragons game where neither team wanted to defend, so whoever got the ball for sustained periods was going to profit. Unfortunately for the Broncos they bombed three opportunities to take the game away and in the end the scoreline got ugly.

The issue is that it's still a relatively young side and a few of these players are learning on the job. A player like Tesi Niu for instance knows how to position himself structurally but his work off the ball leaves something to be desired. I thought Riki was a real weapon for the Broncos and ran some good lines but just let himself down with that effort on Laurie. Similarly Kennedy tried really hard in defence but that knock on off the kick off was just him trying too hard.

It's a frustrating situation for the fans but you can't take the results to heart. The season is over and now it's about experimenting and trying to build a solid foundation while finding a few positives. A few players won't be back next week and it'll be up to the next cab off the rank to earn their place.

Game ruined by the ref.

Legitimate try taken away (Riki ran the inside shoulder) that had us in front.

At some point I would like to see a broncos game where the ref doesnt control the result

The only thing that surprised me today was that the tigers were worse than I had expected.

Kevvie is absolutely out of his depth, but we will inevitably waste yet another year….

Better stop watching the NRL, because the ref heavily influences every game thanks the PVL.

Some good things and some dumb things. The Croft/Herbie thing wasn’t good
The Croft Herbie combination got exploited, because Glenn takes the decoy every fucking time.

He murders any chance of any defensive edge being able to defend.... simple block play and he takes the decoy on his inside shoulder every fucking time

Absolutely fucking disgusting.
This team can be horrendous at times.
How on earth did this team figure a way to lose that?
There is absolutely no spot for Isaako & Croft in this side moving forward, anywhere.
One step forward against the sharks 10 steps backwards this week.

Kevvie should be down in the dressing room and helping Croft pack his bag and put him into a taxi to the furthest place there is from Red Hill. Croft had possibly the worst game I've ever seen from a half. 3 times the moron sprinted out of the line for 3 Tigers tries, twice he over ran the dummy half causing a forward pass. You can tell Farnsworth has no confidence with Croft and was caught out more than once trying to cover for him.

Then we have Isaako. This team just can't accept the 2-3 errors that Isaako commits every single game. Both Croft and Isaako are not even ISC standard.

Unfortunately, this is how he was in the ISC and why I didn't want him back.

Understand the frustration but the players are the issue, what did you want him to do? Chopping and changing isn't really going to change what happened. Maybe if you had Billy walters on the bench to pull Croft 🤔
