Nah **** all your negativity. We played well! Our line defence (especially in the first half) was great! Walsh playing aggressive was awesome, and was only limited by losing our 7.

We play like that every week (and with Reynolds back) we will go far.
It was a big improvement for sure
But we were still poor in so many key areas

Much better effort this week.
But ****, what on earth are we doing with a long term 7. Jock isn’t it, we all know that but it was so glaringly obvious again tonight we have no one steering us.
That’s season done for us. I don’t see us making the 8.

He's a club legend and was great in his day, but I'm sorry, Corey Oates cost us that game. Blew 2 tries at least.

Better team effort. Still lots to improve though

Its sad because he was pretty decent tonight, made plenty of tough meters coming out of our own end and made some big hits in defence. He just doesnt have the capability to accelerate quick enough to make these chances count. I find it hard to be overly critical of a player who is playing to his capabilities and giving it everything. It would be like being overly critical of Kodi Nikorima when he had to mark up against a 6ft 4in Storm winger and got jumped over every time.

Willison and Walsh?

We did make Walsh do basically everything in the end but we lacked a 7.
Walsh is nowhere near playing at his peak. Willson maybe but he’s gonna get so much better

Can't fault the effort tonight much better than previous weeks. Don't really get the oates hate, at least he went forward when bringing the ball out unlike Arthurs, Mariner and Cobbo. We are always wasting at least two tackles coming out of our 20 by letting them take a hit up and get driven back.

What? The pass was forward and it was an unlucky ankle tap. Oates wasn't too bad at all given he's been in and out.
He put his foot on the line in the forward pass try.
He blew 1 try when he had mam and someone else on his inside after a break and he opted to try and break the tackle rather than pass it.
The last one, any other winger in the game scores there. He's like someone running in stilts.

I thought it was a pretty good game, disappointed tho that we haven't seen that sort of effort over the last month and half.

Had the chance to win, just weren't patient, clinical or smart enough to take advantage.

Penrith really get away with a fair bit in the tackle, all night they were pushing themselves up off the tackled man then pushing his head down again slowing the play the ball, Atkins was just letting it happen.

It’s an easy game when you’re allowed to be off side all night
I’ve said it before, the Panfers, Storm and Rooters constantly stand offside. They get penalised, however, as the game goes on, they condition the referee and stand a metre or 2 offside.
The ref has a choice. Penalise every time and blow 25 penalties or let it go.
Only one of those will cost him his job the following week.
To be clear, this is not why we lost, but those 3 teams constantly do it and are allowed to do it.

When Walsh and Mariner made that break, it would have been great for Ezra to wrap around outside Oates to give him options. Instead Mam called for a kick inside and Oates took the tackle. It just seems like there is not a lot of brains and low percentage plays are the go to these days

OR, Oates still thinks he's in his 20's and proved overconfident in his ability to get to the line. He's in denial I'm afraid. He isn't Gene Miles anymore. He's a mediocre second rower playing wing.
