20. Pearson
21. Fifita

Tough call on staggs (i love what he brings offensively and versatility wise, but just for the balance post origin turpin fits more and we seen what happened to the titans tonight without at least 3 genuine forwards on the bench) and sims (he is under rated on here when looking at this year. He wasnt good last year but this year he locks down our middle defensively when he comes on) but I just think the others offer more, at the moment (but sims and staggs will make their way back into the team before the finals-staggs has x factor!). Staggs has more talent then kahu but doesnt mean he will be consistently better, he has only played a total of about a game and a half so far. But he is a hell of a talent, patience everyone though!

Pearson impressed me alot tonight but oates, is oates. Fifitas time will come but his maturity impresses me.

As insinuated above, i dont think this is our best team, but i think its the team for next week. Unless bennett wants to rest the origin players (roberts particularly due to his achillies, and possibly macca and mcguire due to workload) i wouldnt be totally against it.

Imagine, we still have the best 2nd rower in the game (gillett), and an origin player + premiership winner + rookie of the year (bird) to come back into the top 17. Bloody hell we have devoloped some depth. Incredible how their has been a proper SQUAD developed since bennett got back

I dont doubt thats waynes thinking, but milfs defence has been awesome this year. Along with his kicking, and his organising. Its his running game and ball handling that has been off but that will come good qhile he gets consistently good with his weaknesses that i just mentioned he has actuallt been good in

What i've noticed a lot is we have Milf out of the firing line a lot. He often defends now outside of his center, which does help him

Yep, noticed that too. But, even his efforts, wrestle and initial contact have improved. Maybe theyre putting him out there a bit more to save energy. Noticed alot of interchanges between positions this year without hiccups. Oates plays centre/2nd row in attack more often then people realise. TPJ goes any 3rd. Milford goes both sides a little. The changes seem alot more natural then previous season though, even sua played centre well tonight. In previous season an out of position player was taken advantage of by the opposition (knik to wing and thaiday to hooker are 2 obvious examples from previous seasons).

We need Jordan Kahu in the centres for his defence? Wut? He isn't good defensively in the centres, I'd say he's below average when factoring in his lack of acceleration and tendency to just.. fall over.
His defence is ten times better than Roberts defence. Don't let ur one eyedness hide the truth. Jordie Kahu is a gun defensively and you know it

He is hitting and sticking a lot better this year. Not getting bumped off as easy. He's definitely worked on his defence and it's paying off.

Will staggs play on Wednesday? If so I doubt we see him purely on that. Good games from Fifita and Turpin but I see them dropping out unless someone is rested

Kahu hits harder no dount, he can put a great big hit on. But... roberts defence has been great this year and evem last year and id rate his defence above kahus. He has one bad game defensively about 1/10. He doesnt hit hard but his speed off the mark is a massove benefit, if he gets pushed off or misreads a play he can catch them 100% of the time if he wants too.

Origin is a perfect example of this. When inglis is in a mood like he was in origin 1 he has a hand in 3-4 tries down the left against a bad defender. His speed kept him with inglis even if he palmed him off, and the other players put him away.

The problem early on in the season with that edge was isaako didnt have faith in roberts and rushed in. Also, nikorima was on that edge. Roberts was far from the problem...

It would be good if kahu could stay on the field long enough to compare. This run in the centres would have to be his record

Hard to call on Staggs vs Turpin vs Fifita for that 14 spot. Staggs covers more positions and is probably less disruptive than Turpin when coming on in a normal rotation. Fifita has played really well considering he’s restricting himself and playing the role given, plus Su’a/ Glenn can cover centre if necessary if he’s there.

I really hope this doesn't affect him for the rest of the season. Kahu had that same problem and his kicking was affected because of it.

Irrespective of how the guys would come out Wednesday night, I would prefer the same 17 guys we played against Titans provided they all are fit. They all truly deserve their places in the squad. But in saying that, I reckon containing Warriors outside backs would be a monumental task for our guys.

I reckon our Master Coach don't rush any of Origin players instead, give them some much deserved breaks and have'em fresh for Round-19.

Playing against any team that's low on confidence is not a big concern compared to playing against a team with full of confidence. That's what we're up against the next 2 rounds. I hope we come on top against Warriors and Panthers the week after.

Pearson instead of Kahu and Glenn starting over TPJ and I'm on board. (Staggs can kick goals, don't need Kahu)

I find player bandwagoning around here amusing...

before yesterdays game, the consensus was that Pearson should stay away from the side

one good game against a woeful Titans side, and all of a sudden he should be replacing a proven performer in Kahu (who also didn't play badly)

lol

It does happen a fair bit with the younger guys. They start well and all of a sudden we can dump proven players. I'm astounded this year the amount of people that want to offload Glenn. He has been consistently good all year.
