I've just watched the last match performance in detail and I've come away convinced that a gf appearance is a very reasonable goal. Hunt was better than in recent games. Still needs another few percent improvement . The bench forwards were great and were as good as Blair,Thaiday,Glen,Gillett and Parker and that's saying something. With McCullough playing tough,committed support the whole team looked almost Melbourne like in parts . The skill in just those players alone ,when playing well could score points but with the rest of the team added it's just solid across the board.
I was amazed how well the forward battle was waged with a lighter Brisbane quick off the mark on the occasions it was warranted but slower and flatter when appropriate. They deserved a better score line that would have reflected how well they played. With Hodges playing well when in the team we have experience galore in good form with energetic youth just hoping to mentioned in the same breath as players like Parker it's a hell of a mix. We may not be this good again for a fair while so I hope it's this year for a premiership.
