I'm picturing one of the Burgii boys running at me...

That's just asking for someone to post that nude pic of Tom Burgess tbh

I am resigned to Hoffman remaining where he is.

It is good coaching to create and maintain a stable team structure. It is also necessary for good coaching to build combinations which create opportunities, options, and then execute plays well.

For mine, that means our future this year almost entirely hinges on 2 things: rock solid defence, and Barba's heavy involvement as 2nd playmaker.

If that happens in this game, we should win. In fact, we can win, and not just this game, but most.

I am ever the eternal optimist

I'm with you here. I've called for the punting of Hoffman from the 6 since the start, but it's now to late in the season I think to start trying to work on new combinations.

I think you're the only person that thought of it that way... :aetsch:

I'm sure Ari Gold volunteered me just to see me smashed, trampled and left for dead by the first opposition forward running at me with the ball. :bike:

P.S. I actually believe I would have more and better passes and kicks than him before being "medivacked" off the field...

Do you actually think it would make any difference wether it was a forward or a back?

I would slow down most backs... slightly.

Pretty sure he could put a shot on Jamie Soward (provided he didn't step him)!

Hodges must be 5/8 after that performance.

Yep.

Let Copley play his natural position and let Hodges do what he does best - let him pop up around the field and put the defence in all sorts.

Don't think he'll break down like he did at fullback either. Five Eigth doesn't require as much running as fullback which seems to be the concern.

This is exactly what I want to see

1. Barba
2. Hoffman
3. Reed
4. Copley
5. Vidot
6. Hodges

With Maranta first picked if there's an injury.

Hoffman doesn't kick anyway, so Hodges doesn't really need to either.

I'd just get Macca kicking more.

Doesn't always have to be from dummy half, let him go to first receive on a few occasions ala his hero Smith.

Yep, Macca has a good boot on him, so he needs to be utilised more in that department.

Heck, since the Broncos have basically painted themselves in the corner, I'd give those duties to anyone who can kick long. If it's say Sam Thaiday, so be it.

If our Origin players play on Monday like they did tonight, I can see a pretty good victory.

Tonight's match was just more proof that it's time for Justin to move to #6. I don't think it would upset the teams progress and structures as he's the kind of player that can organise the players around him and he has that "eye" you need to see where to put the ball that Hoffman will never have.
I think the results would be instant and lets face it Justin isn't fast enough to be the centre he once was. He has gotten predictable and cant break a tackle like he used to as often as the opposition is wise to him now.
Copley grows in stature when he plays centre and you can put Hoffman or Maranta on the wing.

As far as I'm concerned it can't happen soon enough for them to iron out the kinks as we head into the business end of the season.

can someone make a banner hodges to five/eighth and stick it in griffin's face. or one of those people that email white. beg him to suggest it to hook. hodges has infinitely more try assists than hoffman in one origin game how can he not be there over hoffman. not to mention copely plays better at centre and hoffman at wing. not doing this is illogical
