Round 19 Discussion

Jake Friend in the last 4 mins: terrible pass & dropped ball. Now concussed. Not a good 5 mins for the bloke "better" than Macca.

The Roosters finally get penalized for a forward pass and get the penalty for a high tackle.

Because Macca's never ever had a poor five minutes.

Spare me.

The Roosters should run away with this. They've just monstered the Panthers through the middle.

Lol! You missed the point I was trying to make. It seems that every other hooker in the competition is perfect on this forum.

Based on maybe 4-5 posters who don't rate Macca that highly? And yeah I'm one of those guys who doesn't rate Macca very highly, he's serviceable but he should and could be much better than he is.

Am I the only one that finds it odd that in the "Rise for Alex" round, the team he plays for isn't on FTA?

Would have been locked in a while ago, perhaps before he was even injured. You'd think they could do a switcheroo though.

It'd be hard playing for the Titans after this, you'd feel like the Grinch if you took this match away from Newcastle.

What a superb tribute to Alex before the game in Newcastle. Dave Taylor is playing in the centres and has been killing it.

Valid point. Forgot about the whole 20 rounds in advance thing or whatever it is.

Well, today killed my tipping.

Feel sorry for the Knights. They would have been under all sorts of pressure to win that game and it appears they just fell flat. Good on the Titans who have been better in recent weeks. I feel like they've been pretty unlucky these past couple of years. By rights, probably would have been in the finals in 2013 if injuries didn't hit at the worst time and they had a more favourable draw. Don't think they'll make it this year due to their injury toll but surely they'll be in the hunt soon. They do have some nice qualities after all.

Then the Tigers absolutely massacred the wall of Canterbury. How the hell did that happen? Leilua 4 tries? Jesus christ...

Sounds like Bodene had another monster game which is good to hear and the win most certainly gives them hope of nabbing a confidence boosting Top 8 spot.

Re: Round 19 - Broncos vs Warriors - Post Match Discussion

I know what happened to Alex was tragic, but I'm seriously getting sick of all the hype about it.

Where was the support for the other players that copped career ending injuries? Where was the support for the families of the players that killed themselves?

Anyway, last night was the first time I was able to cheer for Hoffman in a very long time. We need him to stay at fullback.

I love Copley.

Moved your post in here SF where it was more on topic before the edit.

I can sort of see where you're coming from. It could be wrong of me to say, but the McKinnon song is just so generic apart of me thinks it was penned by Trey Stone and Matt Parker as a parody and lord knows if I was out there in the cold and had to listen to that and then the minute of silence I would have been frustrated.

However, it's a good cause and I do think this injury has really got people caring about players welfare. We're seeing stories like Simon Dwyer's receive the attention they deserve and they've set up funds for players all across the game who may suffer a debilitating injury like McKinnon's.

Yeah, like I posted elsewhere, the McKinnon song was pretty much Ladder to Heaven from South Park.

I was 5/5 before today. I put my joker in my work comp too which I'm pissed about now. Need the Sea Eagles to get up tomorrow night.

Every time Canberra lose I feel a sense of justice, a sense of lol.
