PRE-GAME [Round 2, 2023] Broncos vs Cowboys

Biggest thing I want to see out of this game is for us to actually turn up and take it to them.

This corresponding fixture last year was in round 3 and it was thought that we could just roll up and celebrate a victory only to get belted and never be in it.

Our squad has been mentally soft for years now and it's the biggest issue we have. Tigers turned up last year and put a score on us... every team that plays the broncos turns up to bash us... do we have the mentality to be up and ready for every fight this year.

Last year was a pretty big anomaly. Usually pretty tight games and usually right up for it.

I hope we give the heritage jersey another go.

This one will be a really good test as to their mindset, I agree. Last week was a huge victory it really was but if they turn up expecting an easy game or to win this one just because of last week, it will show a lot of work still needs to be done. If they turn up and compete to the 80th minute, then we know this team is in for something special this season.

Neither were any good. Nine didn't praise the Broncos once until the 73rd minute. Commentary is a blight on the game.

We started last season in exactly the same fashion... Round 1 close win over a grand finalist from the previous year.

Consistency is what I want to see more than anything, and its far most important than picking up the odd big scalp.

This game will be a huge indication of how the rest of the season will go... I really believe we'll be up for it and this year we're going to turn that corner and start the long climb back to the top. Can't think of a better way to start than rolling little brother.

@McHunt & @Harry Sack, a couple of very discerning members of BHQ, that much is obvious. Especially because I was enjoying an Ardbeg Uigeadail during our game on Friday night too. I must say Laphroaig & Lagavulin are nothing to be sneezed at either. Pretty much anything from the Isle of Islay.

It's literally years. I'm thinking 2017 maybe? Last game I went to was that finals game against the Dragons where we got whacked which was 18. I didn't go with you guys though, whereas I think if we'd been going to games that year, I would have. I'm tipping @Foordy will know.
