POST GAME Round 2 - Sharks vs Broncos

I have sat through games where you are on the edge of your seat for the entire first half and you get to half time and feels like only ten minutes has gone by because you are so enthralled. I swear at some stage tonight time started going backwards.

Let's hope first of all we have the option of naming an unchanged side. I know Gillett went off late, but not sure on the severity. I think I heard head knock?

Amazing defence. The amount of times I thought "shit they are over here" only for them to be swamped by Broncos.

Plenty to work on but very impressed by the commitment shown.

Thaiday responded well imo. Still gave away his customary penalty but looked like he was trying to impress.

Kahu impressed me under the high ball and his try saving, really needs to pass more though.

Hunt was fantastic, was worried by his quiet game last week but really controlled the game well tonight, his progress continues to amaze me.

Milf looks so much better when he runs it like tonight. Positive signs there.

Thought Joe made a solid debut for the time he got. Really liked kodis contributions, hope he keeps his spot.

Macca looks so much better when he kicks more.

Was really impressed by Wallace, made some really damaging runs, I want to see more of him.

Apart from some silly errors can't think of too many people to single out as having a bad game after just one watch. Was nice to see maranta nearly smile after his try

I've only seen the first half so far but I'm certain that Oates will be in the side next week ! Bloody beauty ! The Sharks are not a top side but they came hard at the Broncos and they too will be better as the year wears on so I can't agree that we 'should have won'. We won with a great attitude in defence, a big improvement over the previous week. I think we should stick with Milford in the 5/8 role for at least half the season and if that isn't the answer then consider Hodges/ Boyd or some other option.

I am so looking forward to having the classy Boyd added to the side so for me, good times ahead with improvement certain. We will get better and even when we lose, we will still be going forward.

If I were Bennett, I wouldn't be changing a winning side much. If Copley is back, great, but we need to find room for Oates somewhere.

With Kahu taking some sweet bombs at the back cleanly tonight, I think Maranta has finally run his length. He scored a sitter try but the work was all Thaiday, otherwise he still doesn't have the pace in the open that we need

Im not sure thats a good idea IBM and dont think Bennett will be making the change. He wont want to dent Lachys confidence at this vital stage of hes development. He may not have lightning speed, but he does seem to have the knack of bein in the right place at the right time.

If Copley isn't playing centre then he shouldn't be in the team at all. Oates needs to be in the side, the guy just has the X factor this side lacks.

Hodges definitely looks like he has faster leg speed. Milford will come good I'm sure of it

Feeling much better after that performance - I've realised things could be worse, I could be a Sharks fan.

It's been said, but scrappy game. Really the tries we scored were fortunate, though to be fair both Reed's disallowed try and Oates' try were well set up. Still, solid defense paired with a mostly disorganised attack isn't going to win us too many games, so I hope Bennett gets some structure and direction in place soon. Otherwise a big improvement on last week. Hope the needle keeps pointing upwards...

A scrappy win indeed, our attack is clumsy at best but credit where its due.....our defence was brilliant tonight. Defence like that can keep us in the game, and our attack and combinations will improve with time.

The other benefit to defence like that is we get less opportunity to kick the ball out on the full from the kickoff.

Oates had a great game and deserves to be there next week, as did Kahu. I also thought Wallace looked pretty good even more so than what I have seen from Gavet.

Hunt is starting to get back into the swing of things but our fifth tackle options and building pressure with repeat sets is poo. Milford just looks like he is a bit nervous and trying too hard at the moment, I think Wayne might just need to simplify his game a bit and get him following the forwards around looking for offloads.

The only thing worse than the sharks tonight tho was the refereeing, the Sharks got away with murder around the ruck, whats happened to the tacklers having to release once held is called? Friggin Gallen and Fifita also crowded and harassed the ball player all night and got away with it.
