Stoked with the win.

Don't get the hate for Walters and Maam.

I was fuming for 40 straight minutes after the Cobbo binning, i reckon NRL has shaved at least a decade off my life expectancy.

Reyno, Walters, Piakura, Willison all outstanding.
Cobbo, Capes, Solid.
Rest did their job admirably.

I hate the officiating in the game more than ever, and fear it will take an absolute howler of a call in the Grand Final to force any change for the better.

There is no excuse for the bunker on that Cobbo binning.

Absolutely 100% agree. No excuse for a person with allegedly all the HD screens and replays not to see the accidental knee. Against a decent side (remember the Storm game and the 'hip drop' sinbin) it could cost us the game.

I think we all agree making calls under pressure is hard, but when you're sitting at home and can see it in the first replay it's super fucking annoying.

My neighbours definitely heard my thoughts on the call for a good 10 minutes. Fuming..

Sailor was great. Tremendous back up only thing with him I don’t know about is why the **** would you re-sign with us to be back up?

Staggs was rocks and diamonds and Herbie was quiet although I found myself raging at him only the once with the kick which is an improvement on both weeks.

Arthars was solid as usual, Mariner I thought was excellent. Arthars can be first choice back up for the remainder of the year as he has earned through his consistent quality performances but Mariner surely gets first crack next year at wherever Selwyn is not.

Selwyn was great on the sting and held his own in the middle. Whilst I don’t want that to become a common tactic it’s not bad to have the versatility and it will do wonders for his discipline, fitness and tackling ability.

Mam was clearly hampered by an injury but if anybody on here seriously doesn’t think that Walsh unlocks him they are kidding himself. He will be as good as new next week when Walshy takes some of the attention off him and links with him effectively. Reyno has struggled in patches without Walsh and he is one of the best players in the comp. Mam is in his first full year and is still learning, still did some great stuff, he will be just fine.

Reyno - Excellent

Palasia and Jensen just show up time and time again when they are needed to put in bigger shifts and start the game. Well done.

Piakura was excellent. Hate to say I told you all but…

Capewell. He did his job, I am very of the opinion you need blokes like Capes to just get the job done and whilst at this rate I’d have him on the bench as a middle/back up second rower next year and maybe even this year he is still a valued member of the side.

Hetho did well. Reliable as usual. Has some outstanding runs off the back of quick ptb’s.

Smoothy did alright but when Paix has recovered he needs to come back. Tyson doesn’t do much for me.

Marty probably impressed me more this game than any other. Did well

Willison had a cracking stint it which he was the dominant presence in the middle 3rd of the field. That’s his best game at first grade and if he plays like that with the rest of his opportunities a bench spot might be in order for him.

Edit: Oh and Billy. Did well, fought hard, undoubtedly our best hooker and undoubtedly climbing the ranks of hookers in the comp.

Like the six again that wasn't call?

The NRL officiating is a lottery and they don't hold themselves to a good standard either as they have few who are able to carry the whistle given there's an extremely limited group of refs they stick with year in and out. There should be 30 first grade level refs at any one time competing for these spots. The bunker should have retired field refs who were the best of the best and aren't fit enough to match the on field requirements any longer.

Special mention to Willison for today's game.

We didn't have the big guns in the middle today and the majority of his stint was him, Taupau and Cobbo I believe.

Held his own and had some strong carries.

Good signs for the future that we might be able to rely on him next year after Flegler moves on.

Agreed. I really wanted to see Willison take it by the scruff of the neck today with this opportunity and he did, so much so I think we'll see him in the side next week too if Flegs is still out.

As for Mariner, Arthars has done absolutely nothing wrong, quite the opposite but this is a kid that needs to be in first grade while Oates is out. Put Mariner on that wing and him and Cobbo will be an absolute nightmare for oppositions with their speed, footwork and tackle breaking ability.

The commentators and officials are selective in what they want to see. Mariner copped an elbow to the face before Mam’s try. Roach mentions it but Ennis changes the subject.

now Piakura is stringing a run of games together and getting some decent minutes, he is really starting to show why the club held him in such high regard.

if he keeps up this form and has a good pre-season, I'd be starting him in the backrow with Riki next season (moving Capes to the middle).

Dunno why people are bagging Mam, he's barely played a season of first grade and was clearly injured for most of the game. Think about other 5/8's and how long it took them to get their game right.
Just look at Tom dearden. He had a poor second year and is now a jet. Mam is doing much much better at this stage of his career.

Your wrong mate, anybody who had played footy before can see walters is a decent hooker. Listen to the experts and stop being a fan boy.
I played my first game of footy in the 70's so have played and watched one or two games before now...

I don't quite know what a fan boy is nor really care. I hope I'm wrong and Walters has a blinder when we make the GF and makes me look silly.

But, Walters looks to me like a half trying his heart out to play hooker. He does some good things, he also makes mistakes because he lacks experience in the position. These mistakes often lead to our attack being clunky instead of free flowing. For example at the start of the season he used to go the wrong way and occasionally almost run into Haas coming from the right hand side back into the ruck. It happened more than a few times so wasn't a one off accident. This doesn't happen to experienced hookers or should I say dummy half.

In the end it doesn't really matter as we don't seem to have a better dummy half in the club. Go back through my posts and you will find that I'm the first to say when he has a good game. In my opinion today wasn't one of those.

Ennis is downright unprofessional with his biased focus. Can't stand how much he dick rides the team he wants to win.

I'd pay an extra $5 on Kayo for a Broncos based commentary.

Mam has hit a wall imo, he’s too quick to run and never looks comfortable ball playing. He’s always been great at broken field play & is more of a running 5/8, but I would have hoped his playmaking would have advanced a bit more by now. Sailor on the other hand looks like a much more natural playmaker.
I think there's more upside to Sailors attack than Mam tbh......

He could easily step in if Ezra's goes down. We could even see an improvement.......

Kevvie seemed awfully nervous in the presser today, even for him. I wonder if that win now has him comfortable with us making the finals?

Gotta upgrade at hooker...seriously....
