I think Pearce has peaked, the bloke won't achieve much more. Hunt is only just finally getting what is hopefully a solid chance in his preferred position and still has a few years before he will peak imo.

Watching Hunt play this weekend actually reminded me a lot of Mitchell Pearce.

I can kinda see what [MENTION=2290]theshed[/MENTION] is talking about TBH, they are similar players in some ways, but I think overall, Hunt has A LOT more about him. Hopefully he can show that.

There's no doubt Hunt has oodles of ability. The biggest issue is whether he can live up to his potential. People have started to doubt him (understandably).

Pearce is actually quite good at NRL level. Can't handle origin though.

I actualy think Hunt is more a player in Cronk's mold that Pearce, in that that while he isn't super talented, he has a good footy brain. He will need to work hard to achieve high level, but if he does, he will soar well above Pearce, who isn't that smart footy wise at least.

Agree with those putting Hunt above Pearce (potentially) and as similar to Cronk - Pearce is a decent player at NRL level, even a good one, but he just fails in Origin. A bit like Kimmorley. I almost feel sorry for them............but nah, they wear that hideous jersey...

Cronk is purely where he is due to fucking hard work. He's not as naturally talented as others in the game. He has his skills through hard work. He reads the opposition through study of their plays, strengths and weaknesses. From what I've read, not many (if any) players work harder than him.

If Hunt puts the same effort in, he will be better than Cronk - he does have natural ability, and he's got a good footy brain. I love how he plays what's in front of him, and as others have mentioned - he's usually in the right spot defensively. He's got some of the X-factor IMO.

He'll never be a Locky - but he could be a damn fine halfback.
