Macca did play better, yes. He still seems to have lost that edge of creativity I have seen from him, especially when he used to run an angle from dummy half look to pass outside then with an outside decoy runner, turn the pass inside to a running back rower running a good angle.

I think he used that move to great effect with Gillett scoring a try I think last year, but zilch since then. He doesn't seem to use Gillett and Glenn creatively on the edges or, there are no such set plays for that, either of which is a shame.

In any event, we don't seem to use our edge forwards well at all - just another prop basically, running boring straight lines 'cos no play has been set to do anything different.

we look so depressingly slow and boring compared to most other teams. dark days indeed

Watching Friend throw bullet passes from dummy half. We're missing out.

Yep. So what are we going to do about it?

I know! Nothing!

It will happen all by itself, or maybe we should ask our dummy halves, nicely of course. Respect the human side of things. Maybe offer chocolates and flowers?

I'd love to see Hoffman get a run at fullback for this one, just as a reward for all the effort he's put in this season.

He's been one of our top three players in my opinion, so he deserves a shot. Sure, he may not have the ball-playing ability to play there long-term for us, but it's not like we have much to lose this season. His support play was always good, so that might add a new dimension to our game.

Not if Hook has anything to do with it

Mmm, I wouldn't move Hoffman back to fullback.

I don't feel like his presence would really add anything and it would really weaken either the wing or centre position in the process.

I never really thought much of his support play either. Every now and then he'd back up and score an awesome try but those examples were few and far between. The only aspect I could see him definitely improving is our kick returns but sacrificing his ability to finish in my view isn't worth it.

Maybe if we put Hoffman at fullback it'll make the halves actually start doing something instead of just shuffling the ball to the fullback and bombing to the corners. Our only play is passing to Norman and it sucks.

It didn't change anything last year or the year before that.

Disagree, Wallace and Norman played a better halves game than Wallace and Prince are doing now. I mean they were still terrible, but they actually explored other options instead of just going to the fullback. Like Glenn topped the try scoring list.

I don't think Hoffman's move to fullback is going to change that.

I'm unsure on what's happened to Glenn. We still play to him, it's just nobody mentions it because he's usually stopped so easily. I believe it's a combination of issues - Glenn's form isn't as red-hot as it was in 2012, the opposition defence knows what to expect...and perhaps Norman had a better combination with him than Wallace?

Either way, our go to plays even back in 2011-12 was the cross field kick or second man play. The difference is now, the second man play is without doubt our most effective.

Yep BP, and this is due to MaraNumpty on the wing instead of JYY. Yow Yeh was a gun in the air as well as on the turf. He was getting to the stage where he was rivalling Folau in the air...

It's been said a lot. Gillett & Glenn are wasted weapons on the edges. It takes a bit of vision and rehearsed set plays to create holes for these 2 terrific back rowers.

Instead as we play them like 2 extra props. Seems like most of the time, our "play makers" take the easy options: do bugger all. Prince can do it. Hunt can do it. Maybe when they get back from holidays?

yeah wtf has happened to glenn, he was the leading try scorer for a forward last season?

I can't see us winning. Cowboys will be too hard up North. There isn't much point in winning at the moment anyway. I'd rather come 12th or so then just sneaking into the eight because let's be honest there isn't a hope in hell that we will beat any of the top four sides and us sneaking into the eight would hide another shitty season.

Don't get me wrong I love the Broncos and its hurts so much when we lose but for the first time in my life I hope we do lose. We need change and the only way I can see that even coming remotely true is if we lose the majority of the games left and are in the bottom four at the end of the season. Maybe then the powers at be will finally do something!!!

I agree we don't deserve to play finals this season unless we flog every team from now on. Look at what the roosters did to the sharks... imagine if we had to play a top 4 side. Yikes

Lama injured last night in a very disappointing performance.

From the if only file- Munster was outstanding. 105m try and three try saving tackles.
