POST GAME [Round 21, 2023] Broncos vs Rabbitohs

It’s what you do when you’re scared.
Or play Union. Either way, we can’t have it in our game. Is Marty Kapow scared? No. Did he get his timing wrong, yes, yes he did. Should he get 3 weeks to “learn his lesson”? To each his own with that.
The suspension is about right given we never want to see that in a game ever again, from any player on any team. Anyone who does it in future should expect no less, irrespective of whether they got away with it previously.

Reminder: it was a 2 week suspension + 1 week loading for second offence. 2 weeks is not that severe, all things considered.

That sounds fair .
No damage done 2 weeks . But ,,, go away and have a think about why after 10 years you would resort to that rubbish .

All assumptions, no one actually knows what went through his head in the moment.
I can only assume he tried his best “Campo Goose Step” impression… timed it completely fkd. Another step and it’s a great aggressive hit up. Silly boy, I’m certain he won’t try it again

Thought we were brilliant. The bond that this group of players have is standing out. That’s why even with the sin bins, the 6 agains, penalties and consistent poor and bizzare official decisions we face game in game out, we can still come out as winners.

That’s been instilled in them by Kev and his coaching staff, so a big shout out to them.

At times it feels like it’s us vs the world, I’m fine with that, it can be used to spur them on.

Not many players deserve to be left out of any praise for this game.
While the penalty count was against us, I think we really benefited from some 6 again calls. Don't have the exact stats, but we seemed to get a few on the 4th and even 5th tackle.

Fun fact: We dumped the Rabbits out of the 8.

JD was pissed. They didn't play AS bad for what he made out. Their errors and mistakes came mostly from pressure. They were right in the game and could have won.

Second half they weren't able to execute on the left anywhere near as much as the first half. I think that was a symptom of being beat in the middle and having to dial it back in to make meters. Some sets they were only making 35m when a long kick was put in.

Or a natural instinct to protect yourself from an incoming hit.
Really? Why doesn't it happen 100 times a game then? Because it's not natural? Because it's an intentional act?

The hit from Arthars was deemed worse than this one from Holmes.

Arthars arm connected with the head of a player who had dropped significantly ... Holmes shoulder connected with the head of a player standing upright

That's a brutal hit. Face looks fucked up, who even is that?

it was Moses ... who also never had to leave the field for a HIA. Holmes was sin binned for the hit

That post match video is epic. Favourite line is from Keenan ‘Palaszczuk’ (lol) on Big Marty

’knee to the head like Jon Jones … your playing the wrong sport’
