Taupau suspended for 3 weeks isn’t the worst. It was dumb and suspendible without a doubt even without the knee making contact. You do dumb shit you leave your fate in the hands of even dumber people.

I couldn't believe people were carrying on about is being some anti-Bronco thing.

If he makes any sort of contact with the opponents head, who knows what the injury could have been. Taupau would be missing for months, easily.

Its not an anti Bronco thing, and i am pretty sure the anti bronco thing is 99% tongue in cheek for most on here.
Its a consistency thing, combined with a "what if" precedent.

What if the swinging arm had hit the guy and broke his jaw = 4 week suspension.
What if the the guy leading with his forearm broke the other guys nose = 4 week suspension.

You cant suspend dudes on what "might" have happened over what actually happened.
Marty's knee hit no one. He is being suspended for longer than Sua'ali'i who knocked a guy out with a raised knee.

This is absolutely worth bitching about. Even if it does fall on deaf ears and the NRL's incompetence.

I can see what Marty was doing but the execution was all wrong, running like that can launch you at the defence with your leg strength and was the reason Campbell Graham flew, but his knee was up and even though it clearly wasn't first contact it looks bad.
Yeah I think Marty got the execution wrong because he does a identical action before he even gets to the defence.. wasn't trying to injure a player or whatever just it looks bad

These old players must be just up in arms about the faux outrage and ‘oh goodness me’ drama over a knee which DIDN’T EVEN MAKE CONTACT, let alone cause an injury. It’s rugby league, things happen and there’s going to be contact. Neither was malicious and neither resulted in serious injury. A sin bin for stupidity was fine for Tapau and a penalty fine for Arthars.. neither should be suspended.

If you think either of Tapau or Arthar’s actions were worthy of a send off or sin bin respectively then you need to take a serious look at yourself and toughen up.

The game is so disgustingly soft these days and at the judiciary everything is completely reactive and judged on how ‘bad’ something ‘looks’ and the possible outrage that snowflakes and woke PC lefties might post online about a particular incident. Pathetic.

Fox sports and their agenda is a cancer for this game.

But that's exactly what they're trying to stop. If they can stamp out the act then no injury will occur.
If you go lightly on the act , whatever it is, then it will continue and injury will eventually occur.
Consistency as always is the issue

Did anyone watching the Storm-Knights game tonight see Nelson raise the knee when coming to the defensive line? It was on the second half. Not as bad as Marty's but fucking blatant and not a word said by referee or even the commentary.

How good are Palasia and Willison going. Us beating up on the Bunnies forwards right at the end of the game with 12 men was just great to watch.

Smoothy went well and his service is from the ground really has our forwards hitting the line at speed.

Klown did his best to get the Bunnies over the line but our defence just frustrated them into mistake after mistake.

Maybe it's just me but I can't believe the shit Cody Walker gets away with in backplay and especially after he's pressured into a mistake.

Reynolds seems to save his best games for when we play Souffs just like Hunt used to do to us when he first went to the Dragons.

Not many run with that sort of a running gait mate.

You will see a swinging arm in every 2nd tackle. Incredibly harsh to penalise on swinging arms, given it's actually a shoulder charge if you don't make an effort with your arm. Running at someone full pelt and leading with a raised knee? It's not even a reasonable argument.

We won that game with our defense, I know Reynolds and Walsh will get the credit for putting on a few tries but there's no doubt the game changed when the team as a collective made is real hard for Souths to get out of their own end.
Yup, exactly this. Imagine we play with our full strength team with no injury concerns & no silly/dumb plays — any team in the comp will struggle to compete with us.

I love what Kev has been doing this season. Instead of thinking far into the future, it’s been all about that week’s opponent and making big strides in the week either by walking away with a W or taking the learnings from that week and building on them. Love Kevvie & his brain trust.

I read all the comments and y’all talk about the 16 Broncos out there…
One thing I haven’t read is love for Hetherington.
He once again did all the ugly stuff that no one wants to/likes to do. Like 1-1 on your line while the bigger man breaks your face. Still love you Kobe!!
The no-frills, get the job done soldier every team needs!!
