Apart from you know, not winning the minor or major premiership that year…

But sure. Why not? Since I am told it no longer matters how many errors Walsh makes, how many tries he lets in or, how many tries he screws up, why bother acknowledging the fact we lost that grand final either?
We very closely lost the grand final, im just saying we basically won it cause people are saying our players and coaches can’t succeed and never will, but we have gone as close as you can get to winning and that should be acknowledged

Also know he’s a golden goose around here but Carrigan had another very average game. Being run into the ground looks like it’s catching up to him.
He hast been run into the ground though. Been on reduced minutes since Origin.

Walsh deserves the criticism. Not because we want him dropped, but because we all want to see him fulfill his potential and be great. He’s too gifted to be another Ben Barba or Krisnan Inu.

He needs to take the next step in his game and he’s not. If anything he’s going backwards.

Pointing out that he was poor doesn’t mean he should lose his spot - he shouldn’t. This team is nothing without him and if he is fit, he should be the fullback of this team, but he also needs to be better and work on the weak elements of his game.
I agreee with all of this. But as a 40 year old man, I don’t think I’m caught up with the glamour of Reece Walsh. I can see he is not a flash in the pan like a Ben Barba, there is substance behind him that I think we need to be patient with.

I don’t expect a million dollar player to have the highest error count in rugby league either.

Our does and has done so for years.

Keep gobbling him if you want, but saying things like “ wins us our games 90% of the time” is just laughable when you are ignoring the other part to his game.

Games such as tonight when he is the most responsible for losing us the game, which happen far too regularly for someone with his hype and cost.

With big money comes big responsibility doesn’t it?
You don’t know ball and it’s clear, if you can’t see how and why Walsh is such a critical part of this football squad you need to watch a different sport. Here is an interesting stat for 2025 so it’s abit clearer for you.

No walsh had broncos at 7 games 1 win 6 losses, 14% win rate.

Now with Walsh we are at 11 games 8 wins 3 losses, 73% win rate.

This game we barely loss, a penalty here or there or a dropped ball we were winning the game and Walsh set up a try and almost won us it at the death. Big money for a big player the bloke is 23 and future of broncos football whether you like it or not.

That happened 2 years ago and we have gone backwards. We didn’t make the 8 last year and after tonight’s result, there’s a decent chance we don’t make the 8 this year either.

Your comment is exactly what is wrong with the club. They live in the past, in what ifs, and don’t focus on the now. The only player in our team who has won a comp is Reynolds and that was more than 10 years ago. The eels were in the same position as us in 2022, the Rabbitohs in 2021 and look at them all now. It’s the same shit.

Let's knock this on it's head too. The penalty was for off-side, it could only be a set restart and while it should have been called as such from the jump he didn't change his mind to 'troll' the Broncos.

Brisbane got their share of calls as well, none as obvious as when Carrigan got in the way of the pass and Todd was able to find an off-side to save the Broncos.

Brisbane were poor, had their chances and didn't take them.
100%

Sadly ref blaming is common on here. Just a by-product of not winning shit for 20 years and being humiliated in two grand finals.

1 point or 1000 points.

We lost. We were closer to winning in 2015 than we were in 2023 but we still lost that one too.

This club has won nothing that matters since 2006 and it has become a feature of our club culture.

Did we even come to this game prepared? Did we even watch the Parra/Canberra game and not take note of how tough they played?

Fair

I was at the game and we didn't play badly. Tackling was good. We just tried to force the issue too many times, with Reece being the main culprit. Parramatta are not a bad side and are much better than their ladder position with Moses in the side. I didn't think we would make top 4, or even 5th the way Penrith are playing. Just got to dig in and get as many wins as we can. Tbh there is not a lot wrong, apart from a few injury concerns to key players, Haas in particular.
Agreed nothing has changed except Mitchell Moses and a fired up eels team were on par with the best of the comp tonight. Minor things go our way this game and we took the win against honesty a pretty disciplined and strong football team

I’ve said there team is shit but the eels definitely did play well, credit to them

That’s the sort of shit that makes you wish you’d gone to the theatre instead…

Madge gave him 6 days off after Origin so he should feel kinda fresh. I think he’s in a rut, the position change earlier in the season wasn’t great for him and I just don’t think he’s got his confidence back again. With Haas injured he’s gotta start being the leader again but not sure this late into the season he has it in him. I think this season is a write off lol
