Round 21 Discussion

I wonder how long parra can keep going with Arthur as coach before they need to try something different.

I don’t think he is necessarily a bad coach or has dramas at the club but parra have really flatlined a few years in a row and don’t really fire a shot when the other top 4/6 teams step up a gear.

IMO they either have to move on from Arthur or lose 3 or 4 of Gutho/D Brown/Blake/Paulo/Matterson/Lane and inject some new faces into a stale squad.

Their backline depth of Dumpster and Jakob Arthur makes our squad look like the Storm.
Yeah it'll be interesting to see what direction they go. Arthur has done a good job considering he inherited a wooden spoon roster in absolute turmoil and then had to contend with that salary cap drama. However 8 years going into 9 is a long time and if Arthur wants to continue making a career of coaching he may want to consider his options during the off-season before things really sour at Parramatta.

They're in a similar position as Newcastle where they've built a decent team, but it's really lacking in champions. I also don't see them putting in the work in junior development and the only lower grade teams worth talking about is their NSW Cup and Harold Matts team.

Normally I'd give a team a pass if their team was running 2nd in the NSW Cup but not when the vast majority is made up of journeymen players with very little in the way of potential.

Until they start to develop players better than the rest of the competition or recruit some genuine superstars, they'll always find themselves in this position or worse.

Why the hell do teams and players let Mitchell bully them off the ball / after plays?

There's been multiple times players have just let him shit on them without them or their team backing them up.

He's really not as tough as he thinks it is, can't wait for the day someone puts one on his chin to bring him down a little.

Can't wait til he has to face Gamble. Tyson will bait him for the whole 80mins and hopefully smack Bitchell out

Either that or Munster will kick him a few times when they play Storm in a couple of weeks

Cronulla are the cockroaches of the competition and I mean that in the nicest way possible. It doesn't matter how badly they stuff up they just seem to always find their way in finals contention. They made some pretty astute purchases in Toby Rudolf, Siosifa Talakai and their development has paid dividends with Will Kennedy, Connor Tracey, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Blayke Brailey etc. making a nice difference to the team.

They can still lose this against the Warriors, but by rights they should be a bottom four team considering what's gone against them. No Johnson, no Graham, no Dugan, no Moylan their best junior turned out to be a drug cheat and Fifita is playing on one good knee.

There we go, Warriors go back to back and scores are locked 16-all.

All off the back of the rules rendering a player like Fifita a liability.

Kane Evans has been sent to the bin for the second time in this game.

This maybe the worst performance of the season.

NRL.com play by play has him down for dangerous tackles, was it head highs or something else?

Doesn't matter anyways as Cronulla sputter on their set.

Meanwhile Fonua-Blake has been back to his best and has served it up on a platter for Reece Walsh. Warriors with an opportunity to take the lead with just over 10 remaining.

Walsh is a good young player but he knows how to have a brain explosion

Walsh has made a meal of trying to defuse a bomb that went way too long and has conceded a goal line-drop out to the Sharks.

Crisis averted, Tracey kicks it on tackle two into a mess of Warriors.

Little over 5 remaining, Warriors in the box seat.

Evans gives away a penalty to give Cronulla a chance but their attack doesn't conjure up anything.

Just over a minute to go, Warriors should hold on.

No Chad to kick a failed 2 point FG for the other team to score off on either side.

Harris-Tavita goes to the bin but it doesn't matter as Trindall goes for a hail merry two point field goal and misses it.

May have to revise the cockroaches tag I gave them, the Warriors forwards led the way.

Bit crappy the game was decided by a crummy crusher penalty.

The Warriors deserved the win, their defence was stronger than the Sharks and they continued to show up for one another. They really should have wrapped it up with a try but in the end a strong effort.

Cronulla had their opportunities but some poor options let them down. I don't think their wingers got enough good ball and both Katoa and Mulitalo are among their most potent players. They kept trying to give it to Ramien who just stifles the attack too much.
