Round 23 - Bulldogs vs. Broncos - Build Up Thread

What I like about Norman at fullback is that if he's coming in as the man from the back it's okay to run more. He's a run first pass second kinda guy and he's much better in a run first position like fullback than a position like five eight.

I think he is a fullback plain and simple, and a good one at that. I view is that he was a fullback with a good running game, support play and passing so they have gone "hey, you would be good at 6"

Hopefully given a bit of freedom to play his natural game will spark some confidence.

If the Norman at fullback experiment works this week then I'd like to see Norman picked there again next week, and Hoffman on the wing.

During play, I'd like to see Hoffman and Norman switch in defence, so Norman's on the wing and our stronger defensive fullback at the back - Hoffman's great strength is his ability under the high ball (normally) and kick returns. So that would maximise that.

Can't agree with this more. If Norman does well at FB this has to happen. IMO Hoffman can do all the good stuff he does from the week.

****ing bullshit that hoffman got dropped. yeah he doesn't score a lot of tries but he's safer than a glass of Coxy's ball sweat in the middle of a desert. He's committed to the team which is more than most of them atm.

Mate I love the hoff, but showing up late to training with the position the team is currently does not show much commitment at all

Well I turned up 5 minutes late to work today, does that make me not committed to my job?

Just trolling...

But we weren't noticed being late. :001_tt2:

And you're not earning 250,000 per year.

Haha yes you're right. If I was earning 250k per year I would be on my best behaviour, haha.

You rock up late to training you get punished. Simple as that IMO.

anything to read into this you reckon????

Griffin said there was no guarantee Hoffman would be selected for the Storm clash at Suncorp Stadium.
"I don't know, I suppose it's up to Josh and how the team performs this week," he said.

sounds like if norman goes well he will stay in the #1. (which i am hoping for)

From my POV, it's just Hook spitting the right words to say.

What kind of motivation would it be for Norman, Hoffman or even Capewell if he just said, well whatever happens Hoffman will be back next week?

Mate I wouldn't be singing his praises yet.

His defensive side and ability under the highball will be tested mostly on Sunday. Broncos will be lucky to get enough ball in good attacking positions to enable him to show his wares

I've tipped the Broncs out of... I dunno, loyalty or desperation. Winning and losing streaks must come to an end eventually...
